The long-awaited revival of Apple’s voice assistant seems imminent.
After months of speculation, it seems that a completely redesigned version of Siri is ready to make its debut, backed by a technological glow-up made possible by an exceptional ally.
According to the reputable Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple’s executives are planning an official announcement for the second half of February, an event that will not only unveil the new capabilities of the assistant, but will confirm the fruits of the recent strategic partnership signed with Google.
Apple’s objective, pursued since the announcements at WWDC 2024 to relaunch its AI, seems to be to offer concrete demonstrations as early as the coming weeks.
The roadmap outlined by Gurman envisions that, right after the February unveiling, the new Siri will be integrated into iOS 26.4.
This OS update is expected to enter a beta testing phase in the same month, before reaching the general public with a definitive release estimated between March and the early days of April.
It would be a necessary step forward to close the gap with competitors, finally bringing to Apple’s devices those generative capabilities users have long awaited.
However, the February presentation could be only the appetizer for a much richer course. Bloomberg sources suggest that Siri’s evolution will not stop at simply boosting responses, but will decisively shift toward a behavior of a true AI chatbot, similar to what has been seen with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
This more advanced iteration of the assistant, known internally by the code name “Campos”, is destined to be the star of the annual developer conference scheduled for the summer, WWDC 2026.
It will be precisely during the summer season that Apple aims to lay down the ace, introducing the full Apple Intelligence features based on Gemini within the future operating systems.
All eyes are therefore on iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27: these platforms, which are expected to be released in beta right after the conference, will serve as the real proving ground for Cupertino’s new approach to artificial intelligence.
If the predictions prove correct, the summer of 2026 will mark the moment when Siri stops being a simple executor of voice commands and becomes a complex and articulated interlocutor, capable of improving daily interaction with our devices.
