The Return of the Atypical Foldable: Huawei Pura X2 Bets on a Giant Display

One of the most unusual smartphones on the market is set to return during 2026: we are talking about Huawei Pura X2, a foldable device that would inherit the first chapter’s unconventional look. However, according to the latest leaks we should have an even larger internal display, for an improved user experience

While all attention is focused on Samsung’s Wide foldable, in reality this category has already had its first outing with Huawei Pura X: the Chinese company’s flip phone was announced last March with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The result is a hybrid between a traditional foldable and a clamshell, but things will become even more interesting with its successor.

According to an insider, Huawei Pura X2 would feature an even larger internal display: 7.5″ diagonal, compared to 6.3″ of the current model. The external design should not change, and there would once again be a vertical camera paired with a large rear display.

Compared to Pura X’s triple-camera setup, there would be a Quad Camera; moreover at least three variants are planned, each with a different SoC (Kirin 9020, 9030 and 9030 Pro). Probably we’ll be dealing with a series but leaks raise the bar, citing also a top variant with 20 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

The device is expected to come in blue, black, green, orange, purple and white colors, while the launch is planned in the same period as the predecessor, therefore toward March.
