The launch in Italy of Honor Magic 8 Pro will take place in a matter of days: to pass the wait we can start to whet the appetite with the verdict from DxOMark. The well-known portal has placed the Camera Phone a step away from the Top 5, among the best models of 2026.
According to DxOMark tests, Honor Magic 8 Pro positions itself at the top of the market (6th in the global ranking with 164 points), confirming itself as one of the best Camera Phones for versatility and reliability.
The device excels for the accurate exposure and the wide dynamic range in almost all conditions. Detail retention is excellent, especially in bright light and in shots with long-range zoom. Portraits benefit from a natural bokeh effect with precise subject cut-out and very pleasant and neutral skin tones. In photography, visual noise is kept at extremely low levels.
The Achilles’ heel mainly concerns the video department, where exposure instability and occasional inaccuracies in color rendering are noticeable. Indoors or in poor light, videos show visible noise (especially if there is movement) and a loss of detail. Finally, depth of field is sometimes limited in group portraits, with the risk of faces out of focus, and artifacts such as ghosting and color fringing are present in video footage.

With its 164 total points, Honor Magic 8 Pro comes close to DxOMark’s Top 5: even if it fails to surpass the latest flagships from Apple, vivo, OPPO and Huawei, it remains a Camera Phone of the highest level.
The new Honor entrant leaves Pixel 10 Pro XL, Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro Max behind, respectable rivals. Remember that the launch in Italy is scheduled for the 15 January, so only a few days remain before discovering all the details of the international version!
