At the start of the month, the news of the strategic partnership between Apple and Google: two historic and eternal rivals that join forces to boost the future versions of Siri, thanks to Gemini’s contribution. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Cupertino would already be ready to unveil the plans of the collaboration, offering an official demonstration during the month of February.
In short, the new incarnation of Apple’s assistant could be right around the corner, with an earlier-than-expected debut.
The first phase of the relationship between Apple and Google should take shape during the second half of February. The iPhone maker should announce the Gemini-based version of Siri, but the news would not be limited to a presentation.
The assistant should officially debut with iOS 26.4, whose beta testing phase would be planned exactly for February. Siri will use a technology internally defined as Apple Foundation Models version 10, but which actually rests concretely on the Google Gemini infrastructure.
Thanks to this integration, the assistant will be able to analyze personal data and understand the content displayed on the screen to perform complex actions, finally delivering on the promises made during WWDC 2024.
To ensure maximum security, Apple will host these models on its own servers Private Cloud Compute, maintaining the privacy control that has always distinguished the US company, despite the external origin of the base technology.
The real leap in quality, however, will come with the release of iOS 27 (codename Rave), which will be presented at WWDC 2026. In this phase, Siri will undergo a total change, becoming a true conversational chatbot based on an even more evolved version of Gemini, internally named Apple Foundation Models version 11.
The new system will enable fluid dialogues and contextual understanding such that it can match or surpass the current capabilities of ChatGPT and Copilot. In this future scenario, Apple and Google would even be discussing the possibility of running Siri directly on Big G’s cloud infrastructure, in order to maximize response speed and result accuracy.
