After seven years of growth and innovation, POCO has taken a new bold step by renewing its commitment in the premium smartphone segment. Unveiled in Bali, the new series is led by the flagship model POCO F8 Ultra, accompanied by POCO F8 Pro – which aims to make flagship experiences accessible to a broader audience.
The most significant milestone of this generation is the partnership with Bose, a global leader in audio technologies, to integrate the Sound by Bose technology into the new devices.

As anticipated by various leaks, the two smartphones are the Western rebrands of Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max, launched in China in October. Apart from the brand change, the only substantial difference concerns the batteries – less powerful for the devices announced at the global level.
POCO F8 Ultra is the flagship model and bases its power on a dual-chipset configuration that combines the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with the VisionBoost D8 chip. This synergy unlocks the full potential, allowing the device to reach an impressive AnTuTu score of 3,944,934.
For gaming enthusiasts, the Ultra offers three key features: Smart Frame Rate up to 120 FPS, resolution up to 1.5K, and Game HDR. It also introduces AI Super Resolution, optimized for five popular titles, including Call of Duty: Mobile.
POCO has optimized the low 1% frame rate: this represents the 1% of the worst frames in a session and monitors the most critical moments of lag. In a two-hour test at 120 FPS, the F8 Ultra maintained higher stability, with a constant low 1% frame rate at 89.71 FPS. Everything is efficiently managed at the software level by the WildBoost Optimization system, which balances CPU and GPU load to reduce energy consumption and overheating.
At the hardware level, stability is ensured by the LiquidCool system with IceLoop 3D dual-channel and dual-layer technology. This solution, with its 6,700 mm² area, dissipates heat efficiently, ensuring constant performance even during the longest gaming sessions. The smaller brother F8 Pro – although more compact – introduces POCO’s first IceLoop 3D triple-layer system, increasing the maximum thermal capacity by 40% compared to its predecessor.
Sound by Bose
The collaboration with Bose, a leader in acoustic engineering, has enabled the creation of a mobile audio system that utilizes the technology Sound by Bose. POCO F8 Ultra features a premium triple-speaker system with a 2.1-channel architecture, pushing the limits of compact design for deep bass, detailed sounds, and crystal-clear voices.
The partnership offers two distinct audio profiles that users can choose based on their preferences: Dynamic, which enhances the depth of bass for an engaging sound, and Balanced, which provides overall balance and vocal clarity.
Display
Both F8 models feature the new POCO HyperRGB display. Unlike traditional 2K OLED displays, this screen uses a full RGB subpixel structure. The result is as sharp as 2K, but with significantly reduced energy consumption (19.5% less for the Ultra compared to the previous F7 Ultra, and 22.3% less for the Pro compared to the previous generation).
F8 Ultra introduces the luminescent material M10, which improves luminous efficiency by 11.4%. The large display measures 6.9″ and features extremely slim bezels – 1.5 mm on three sides and 1.68 mm on the bottom side.
For photography, the F8 Ultra features a main sensor Light Fusion 950 50 MP with OIS, which, thanks to its 1/1.31″ size and larger pixels, increases light sensitivity by 43%.
The real novelty is the first POCO 50 MP periscope telephoto camera, which offers an optical zoom 5X and an Ultra Zoom up to 20X. The system also includes a 50 MP ultra-wide camera. The F8 Pro introduces a dedicated telephoto camera, offering an optical zoom 2.5X and a lossless zoom 5X.
Batteria e software
POCO F8 Ultra is equipped with the largest battery ever integrated in the F series, from 6.500mAh, supported by the fast charging HyperCharge 100W (which reaches 100% in 38 minutes) and by the wireless charging at 50W. The Pro packs a 6.210 mAh battery, also with 100W charging, completing the charge in 37 minutes.
On the software level, the series is equipped with Xiaomi HyperOS 3: the experience is enriched with features such as HyperIsland, HyperConnect for the cross-device ecosystem and HyperAI, which includes the integration of AI Agent – Gemini (powered by Google Gemini) for advanced tasks such as image generation and in-depth research.
Furthermore, connectivity is improved thanks to support for eSIM and to Xiaomi Astral Communication, which includes the Xiaomi Offline Communication feature for emergency voice calls even when there is no network.
