The American company has officially announced the new over-ear Beats 360.
Designed for those who don’t want to compromise the isolation of an over-ear model during workouts at the gym, they combine an unprecedented liquid resistance, an extremely high customization and a new proprietary chip that marks a partial independence from traditional Apple processors.
Beats 360 official: what are the new features?
The new arrivals go straight for longevity and durability. The materials chosen are more robust than previous generations and bring with them the IPX4 certification against water and sweat, an absolute novelty for the brand’s models.
The basic ergonomics are provided by breathable mesh fabric ear pads with foam padding, designed for workouts and extended use, but easily replaceable with an optional soft leather variant.
The real standout feature is the modularity of the design. The headphones are marketed in four colorways: Black, Cloud, Pink and Sky, while replacement kits further broaden the possible combinations. The Performance Knit cushions add the Navy and Volt tones, while the UltraPlus leather version is offered in Black and Cloud.
Each replacement kit includes both the ear cups and the headband, giving the user complete freedom to mix colors or simply refresh the components most prone to wear.
The audio architecture further improves thanks to a new high dynamic range amplifier and dynamic drivers with a dual-ring neodymium magnet. This specific configuration allows for an output volume higher by 12 dB than Beats Studio drivers, while also ensuring greater structural rigidity and better acoustic damping.
The management of the surrounding environment is instead entrusted to an active noise cancellation system that promises to block 1.75 times more noise than Beats Studio Pro, effectively making them the brand’s best headphones in this regard.
The isolation automatically adapts to external noise and head fit, using nine MEMS microphones distributed across the ear cups. In addition, there is a more natural Transparency mode and an adaptive EQ capable of calibrating the audio to the listener’s anatomy, maintaining optimal performance even when isolation features are deactivated.
A new chip and a hefty price tag
From the perspective of internal hardware, Beats 360 adopt an original strategy. They do not use Apple’s H1 or H2 chips, but a processor designed in-house by the brand.
As with the AirPods Max, the entire electronics, including the battery and antennas, are distributed inside the two ear cups, minimizing the passage of signals and cables through the upper headband.
Even without Apple’s silicon, the headphones maintain access to advanced features such as Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, instant pairing, Siri voice activation, automatic switching between Apple devices and support for the Find My network.
Meanwhile, integration with the Android system remains deep and guarantees features such as Fast Pair and Audio Switch via the official Beats app.
The stated battery life is 32 hours of continuous playback, regardless of whether the noise cancellation is on or off. There is instead no option to transmit audio via a cable, unlike the Studio Pro models or the AirPods Max 2.
The new Beats 360 are available at a price of 349.95 euros, while replacement kits for the cushions and headband are sold at 59.95 euros. Distribution is already confirmed through the official site, Apple Stores, and progressively at all other physical retailers.
