Apple has just hit the market iPhone 18 Pro, and the new model is already in the hands of Zack Nelson for the usual resistance test on his YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. The test allows verifying the resilience of the display and the chassis, as well as showing some interesting details of the internal construction.
iPhone 18 Pro in the test: screen, chassis and durability
The glass used is the same Ceramic Shield 2 already seen on iPhone 17 Pro. In Mohs scale pins tests, the first signs appear only at level 7, with deeper scratches at level 8. According to Nelson, it is the best result obtained so far in his tests, better than other smartphones that have passed under his blade, which usually scratch as early as level 6.
Among the most interesting build details there is also the Dynamic Island, slightly smaller than last year. The iPhone 18 Pro frame is in aluminum while the back is characterized by a Ceramic Shield glass.
Put to the test with a direct flame for about 25 seconds, the display showed no permanent damage. In the bending test, which inevitably recalls the old Bendgate cases, iPhone 18 Pro does not bend and the frame remains rigid.
The overall picture that emerges from the test is positive on all fronts tested: the display, frame and rear glass hold up well to the most common stresses. Closing the test is the complete disassembly of the device, which allows close observation of the variable-aperture lens mechanism, one of the most discussed novelties of this generation.
