Galaxy S27 Ultra, the biggest leap forward in battery since 2021

Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are preparing to bring one of the series’ most requested features, namely a larger battery. According to certifications filed with the Chinese authority 3C, both models would gain extra energy over the previous generation, an important step forward (although at the moment battery capacity is not yet on par with Chinese rivals).

Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra: bigger battery and 60W charging

According to certifications, Galaxy S27 Ultra (model number SM-S958) would mount a battery with a nominal capacity of 5,534 mAh, a value intended to be rounded to5,700 mAh as the typical capacity.

This would be a particularly welcome increase for Ultra fans: since 2021, Samsung’s flagship models have hovered around 5,000 mAh, with no significant generation-to-generation increments.

Also the Galaxy S27 Pro (SM-S957) should have an enlarged unit compared to the usual one. Certification indicates a nominal capacity of 5,087 mAh, later stated as 5,200 mAh. On the wired charging front, in line with what has emerged previously, both the S27 Pro and the Ultra model would reach 60W (20V/3A).

This alignment is not a given: according to details that have emerged so far, Galaxy S27 base would top out at 25W and Galaxy S27+ at 45W, while Pro and Ultra would for the first time share the highest charging step in the lineup, historically reserved for the Ultra model alone.

The picture around the new series is filling out on several fronts: with all the details that have emerged so far on design, cameras and specifications, we have prepared a first draft of the complete technical sheets. Regarding the launch, the series is expected for February 2027 (in line with the debut of the current generation).
