OPPO Watch S2: FatMax mode for burning fat and other confirmations

OPPO has confirmed the specifications of Watch S2 just days before the official debut, set for September 22. Among the distinguishing features are a thickness of just 8.9 mm and the new FatMax mode, designed to calculate in real time how many grams of fat are burned during training.

The distinctive function of OPPO Watch S2 is certainly FatMax, a mode that calculates the fat-burning zone based on height, weight, age, gender and activity level, providing real-time data on the grams of fat burned during training.

Unlike the standard formula used by most smartwatches (220 minus age, then 60-70% of the result), as we have already discussed, FatMax is based on a proprietary algorithm that adapts over time to the wearer’s physical condition, and it is the first function of this kind to debut on a smartwatch.

Supporting it are sensors for ECG, wrist temperature, blood oxygen and heart rate: the optical sensor handles interference 75% better than the previous generation, with heart-rate accuracy during exercise reaching 98.8%.

Slim 8.9 mm design and up to 10 days of battery life

On the design front, OPPO Watch S2 adopts a round dial with a thickness of 8.9 mm and a weight of 34.4 g without the strap, available in Vibrant Orange, Misty Powder and Mountain Shadow Grey.

The battery provides up to 10 days of autonomy in optimal conditions, which drop to 7 days with normal use and 4 days with the display always on (Always-On).

Among the additional features, Watch S2 supports simultaneous pairing with two smartphones and integrates Watch Fluid Cloud, a live notifications system designed for services such as food delivery, ride-hailing and navigation.

OPPO Watch S2 will officially debut on September 22 in China, in tandem with the Find X10 series launch; pre-orders are already open on the Chinese market. Regarding a possible international launch, we are optimistic since the first OPPO Watch S was introduced in Italy in February.

Additionally, there is good news for Find X10 Pro Max: the company has confirmed the international launch in October, featuring the latest Dimensity 9600 Pro.
