After the impressive camera setup of the vivo X300 Ultra, the Chinese company may have something even bigger in store. A hands-on photo and a hands-on video circulating on TikTok, both leaks, would show vivo X500 Pro Max with a huge camera island, almost as wide as the phone itself, featuring a rotating ring around the module.
vivo X500 Pro Max: what photo and video leaks show
In the photo circulating online, the device on the left would (with a margin of uncertainty) be the current X300 Ultra, while the one on the right should be the unannounced vivo X500 Pro Max: the side-by-side comparison highlights how the new camera module appears more bulky than the already substantial predecessor.
The TikTok video offers a closer shot and raises a notable question: it’s not clear whether the ring actually protrudes from the device’s top chassis or if it’s just a particular shooting angle.
On the edge of the ring, numbers would be etched, which could correspond to ISO values: this would then be used to control the camera’s manual settings.
Anyway it’s worth bearing in mind that the fake is just around the corner, so it’s wise to wait for official details directly from the brand.
The camera system expected on vivo X500 Pro Max
Moving on to the specs, the new Pro Max would feature a triple camera consisting of two 50 MP sensors and a 200 MP module. The main sensor would be a Sony solution at 1/1.28″ with LOFIC technology, while the telephoto would use a Samsung HP0 unit in 1/1.4″ format, already seen on vivo X300 Ultra’s tele camera.
For the ultra-wide, it should rely on another Sony sensor, a model from the IMX8 series.
LTPO 6.85″ and Dimensity 9600
On the display front, the vivo X500 Pro Max would mount a 6.85″ LTPO panel with a 144 Hz refresh rate, the world’s first BOE Q11 panel. The device would also be powered by one of the upcoming chips from the Dimensity 9600 family, although there are still many conflicting rumors at the moment.
When the X500 series arrives
The flagship series will officially debut in September, with three models confirmed: vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. An Ultra model will arrive, but as tradition dictates it should pop up at a later time than the other three.
It is not yet certain which devices will be available globally: the Pro Max should also come to international markets, while rumors suggest the Ultra variant may be left out of the global launch.
