Last June, the Dutch brand launched Fairphone 6 and after more than a year since its debut it was reasonable to imagine a new chapter. And instead a slew of rumors about the Plus model surfaced, an updated version that introduces a new color and some news compared to the previous model.
Fairphone 6+ coming soon: leak reveals design and differences from the standard model

The Fairphone brand originates in the Netherlands with noble ideals: to fight the planned obsolescence of major tech companies with a smartphone designed for durability and built with a reduced environmental impact.
The result is a device focused on modularity and DIY repairability, with extended software support. Fairphone 6 was announced with as many as 8 years of updates and the possibility to replace up to 12 components (including the display, battery and USB-C).
Apparently, a seventh chapter isn’t planned yet in the company’s plans, and it’s likely we’ll have to wait until 2027. As with Fairphone 3 and 3+ (released in 2019 and 2020), this year a Plus variant should make its appearance.
Specifications leak
The leaked images show Fairphone 6+ in the new color Cobalt Blue, joining the previous Horizon Black and Forest Green. The device is expected to arrive only in the 12/256 GB configuration, compared to the 8 GB RAM of the standard model.
In addition to these two additions there seems to be a chipset upgrade with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while the version launched last June uses Gen 3. The software also changes, with Android 16 – in line with smartphones released over the year.
In the renders there are various accessories: remember that the phone is not equipped with built-in magnets nor wireless charging, but features a screw mounting system for modular accessories on the back.
Price in Europe
The rumors also include the price: Fairphone 6+ should debut in France at €649, a figure higher than the €599 of the standard version (now available at the reduced price of €549).
There are no release details yet, but it’s likely the launch will take place in the coming weeks.
