The summer event of the Chinese tech giant has arrived, along with the Global debut of the new Pura 90 Series smartphones: launched in China in April, they are now arriving in various international markets as Huawei Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max. The standard model is missing from the lineup, but the two elder siblings offer no compromises and arrive with their bold colorways and the same technical specifications as their Asian counterparts.
Huawei Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max: everything you need to know about specs, price and Global release

First of all, the successor to the Pura 80 Ultra changes its name: the flagship model arrives with the Pro Max designation, and, at the end of the day, we all know where the inspiration came from. Jokes aside, the new top-of-the-range devices are true tech jewels, both in terms of aesthetics and in the technical setup and camera system.
The design remains unchanged, featuring a triangular module with rounded corners typical of the range. The big novelty concerns the color options, characterized by exotic, gradient tones. Long-time enthusiasts will already notice that the new shimmering colors echo the old P20 Pro and P30 Pro.

The two smartphones share most of the specifications, while the differences focus mainly on the display, cameras and charging. Huawei Pura 90s Pro features a 6.6″ display, while the bigger Pro Max rises to 6.9″; in both cases we are talking about OLED displays with LTPO technology and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
As for the chipset, the Asian tech giant does not specify the on-board SoC, but as previously revealed we know it is the Kirin 9030S (built on a 5 nm process). The phones offer batteries of 6,000 mAh, but in European markets where they will be sold we will have units of 5,270 mAh.

Pura 90s Pro is equipped with wired fast charging at 66W and wireless at 50W; Pura 90s Pro Max steps up to 100W and 80W respectively.
Stellar Cameras
The differences continue with the cameras, specifically the ultra-wide and telephoto. The main sensor on both is a 50 MP solution with variable aperture (f/1.4-4.0), 1/1.28″ sensor size, LOFIC technology, RYYB filter and optical image stabilization.
The Pro model features a 12.5 MP ultra-wide and a 50 MP periscope telephoto. With the Pro Max, the ultra-wide goes to 40 MP while the tele (still with periscope zoom) rises to 200 MP. Huawei uses the RYYB filter for all sensors (replacing the classic RGGB scheme), and in this case we are dealing with the first 200 MP module equipped with this color filter.

The Chinese giant has long used two yellow (Y) filters to increase brightness in photos, reduce noise in low-light shots, shorten exposure times and achieve better dynamic range.
The smartphones also carry a multispectral sensor for color fidelity and use the proprietary XMAGE imaging technology.
Price and release
The new Huawei Pura 90s Pro debuts globally at €899 and €1,049, respectively for the 12/256 GB and 12/512 GB variants. The bigger Pro Max costs €1,149 and €1,299, for the same configurations. At the moment, all markets where it will be available are still unclear; as soon as we know more about the possible Italy debut we will update you with all the details.
