Xiaomi Car Home Charging Robot Arm: the company announces the robotic arm to recharge the car

In recent days, Lei Jun’s company has shown off the feats of the new humanoid robot CyberOne 2: the progress in robotics is undeniable, and now the Chinese company is turning a project into a commercial solution with Xiaomi Car Home Charging Robot Arm.
As the name suggests, it’s an electric car charger but fully automated thanks to the presence of a robotic arm. Clearly it’s a smart product, easily controllable via smartphone. The video posted on the official Chinese social channels shows the new feature in action and speaks volumes.
Thanks to its 152 mm of width the arm can fit into even the narrowest spaces while the charging column measures 400 mm x 180 mm x 120 mm. The station is available in two versions: 7 kW (with 220 V single-phase power supply and a portable plug weighing 640 grams) or 11 kW (with 380 V three-phase power supply and a connector weighing 770 grams).
The charging columns are already available in Xiaomi’s portfolio, together with a portable 2.8 kW charger (with an output power of 3.5 kW). The addition is the robotic arm, capable of automatically charging the vehicle and signaling the completion of the operation via a notification on the smartphone.
For now, Xiaomi has only announced this novelty, but details on price and availability are still forthcoming. While waiting to learn more, here are the latest additions to the Chinese company’s fleet: the brand’s first electric SUV (YU7) and its track version (YU7 GT)!
