The month of April will bring a slew of updates for Xiaomi’s sub-brand, at least for the Chinese market. The next mega event doesn’t have a date yet but we know that Redmi K90 Max and the premium tablet Redmi K90 Max and the premium tablet K Pad 2, together with the new Redmi Book Pro 2026 (with Intel Core Ultra X7 358H and two sizes, da 14″ e 16″).
Now Lei Jun’s company has also unveiled another novelty: Redmi Pad 2 SE will be the brand’s next budget tablet, with a compact design and some features aimed at the higher end.

The device design is visible thanks to the first teaser and shows a simple and essential look, with a unibody metal chassis and a single main camera. Redmi Pad 2 SE will have a 9.7″ diagonal screen with a 2K resolution and a high refresh rate (which, however, has not been specified).
So we’re talking about a fairly compact tablet, powered by a 7,600 mAh battery. The chipset and other specifications have not yet been disclosed, so we just have to wait for the event or for the rumor mill to start turning.
In reality, in the last few days the existence of Redmi Pad 2 9.7 has emerged, whose name was published in error on Xiaomi’s official site. Probably the tablet arriving in China and this model are in fact the same device, though no confirmation yet.
The debut is expected in China by the end of April, while for global markets the target is May, with Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro.
