Honor has officially announced the arrival in Italy of its new flagship, the Honor Magic 8 Pro. The announcement confirmed the Chinese brand’s strategy, positioning the new device as the first “Self-Evolving AI Smartphone“.
The company intends thus to mark a clear distinction from the past, focusing on the deep integration between the hardware platform and a proactive artificial intelligence capable of adapting to the user’s habits.

Along with the Honor Magic 8 Pro comes the new interface MagicOS 10, based on Android 16. At the heart of the system operates the next-generation AI agent (known as the YOYO Agent in the Asian market), designed to automate the execution of complex tasks.
Thanks to the MCP architecture, the virtual assistant gains the ability to control system applications, enabling tasks ranging from searching and deleting screenshots to the synthesis of work documents.
To facilitate interaction with these features, Honor has introduced a dedicated physical button, the AI Button: a long press activates the assistant, while a double-click opens the camera, although the button remains customizable by the user.
Software integration extends to the Google Cloud collaboration, bringing to the device the capabilities of the Gemini model. This enables multimodal interactions via text and voice, as well as security tools like AI Deepfake Detection, designed to counter fraud attempts through voice cloning or video manipulation during calls.

On the imaging front, the device adopts the new AiMAGE Camera System. The specs highlight a clear focus on zoom capabilities: the Magic 8 Pro features an Ultra Night Telephoto camera with 200 megapixels and a sensor of 1/1,4-inch and an aperture of f/2.6.
This configuration is designed to maximize light capture even at long focal lengths, supported by lenses with an optical zoom of 3.7x. The module is completed by a 50MP main camera (f/1.6) and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with macro capabilities.
At software level, the stability of shots is managed by an adaptive AI stabilization model that promises to reach the CIPA 5.5 standard, reducing the need for external supports such as tripods. Color processing is entrusted to the Magic Color engine, which uses deep learning algorithms to manage tones and apply stylistic presets.

Under the hood, the Magic 8 Pro is equipped with the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The display is a LTPO OLED panel of 6.71 inches with a variable refresh rate 1-120 Hz and HDR peak brightness that reaches 6,000 nits, incorporating eye-protection technologies such as the PWM dimming at 4320 Hz.
A notable technical aspect concerns the battery. While the Chinese version of the device boasts a capacity of about 7,200 mAh, the variant intended for the global and European market is reduced, stopping at 6,270 mAh.
This is a technical norm tied to different certifications and silicon-carbon cells for export, which however still represents an increase compared to the 5,270 mAh of the previous Magic 7 Pro. The charging supported in Italy is 100W wired and 80W wireless.

Honor Magic 8 Pro is available in Italy starting today, January 15 in colors Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan and Black. The price positioning is in the premium tier, with a starting price set at 1.299 euros.
