The wall of secrecy that usually surrounds the launches of new tech products has been unexpectedly breached, and this time the “blame” isn’t from external sources or industry paparazzi, but from the company that makes them.
Samsung seems to have inadvertently confirmed the existence and imminent arrival of its new line of earbuds: the Galaxy Buds 4.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4: An Unexpected Appearance on the Official App

Everything started from a slip-up within the Samsung Members app, the platform dedicated to the Galaxy device owners’ community and support.
Users who considered the fourth generation of the Buds still far off were contradicted by the evidence highlighted by the leaker Alfaturk. In a post recently circulated on the X platform, it was highlighted that the names “Galaxy Buds 4” and “Galaxy Buds 4 Pro” clearly appeared in the app’s menus.
The presence of these devices did not occur in a random section, but in the technical support area and troubleshooting. If Samsung has already prepared the troubleshooting entries, it means the product development is in an extremely advanced phase, if not completed.
The company has, in fact, already prepared to handle any support for hardware that has not yet been officially announced to the public.
Brand-new design and leaked technical specifications
In addition to the name confirmation, concrete details about the aesthetics and technical capabilities of the new earbuds are beginning to emerge. According to reliable sources like the well-known informant Evan Blass, the new Galaxy Buds 4 Pro should feature a renewed design compared with the past.
The render images (visible a little higher up) suggest maintaining the “stem” structure, similar to what was introduced with the previous generation, but with significantly softer and more curved lines, diverging from the stiffer geometries of the current models.
Further confirmations come from FCC certifications uncovered by The Tech Outlook. The flagship model, identified by the code SM-R640, will support both the Bluetooth Classic and the Bluetooth Low-Energy.
A significant change could also concern the charging case: rumors point toward abandoning the classic pill-shaped form in favor of a more squared-off design, similar to a small box.
The battery life bet and the competition
One of the most interesting aspects revealed by the technical documentation concerns power. The new Pro-grade earbuds will support a 3.85V DC power supply.
This data suggests the use of a high-voltage battery (for earbuds) that could translate into a noticeable improvement in battery life.
Samsung seems to want to directly challenge the competitors, particularly Google’s Pixel Buds Pro 2 from Google, which have made battery life one of their strong points.
With Apple, according to the latest chatter, not planning to launch new AirPods for all of 2026, Samsung has a long time ahead to capture the attention of users seeking premium earbuds.
A debut expected in February
In light of this information, the release date question finds an almost obvious answer. Considering that the Galaxy S26 series is expected for an official announcement on February 25, it is highly probable that the new earbuds will be unveiled during the same Galaxy Unpacked event.
The convergence of clues is now overwhelming: from the technical certifications obtained at the start of January to the premature appearance in the support app, everything suggests that the Galaxy Buds 4 are ready for the stage.
All that remains is to wait for the late February event to discover if the audio performance and noise cancellation will live up to the expectations generated by this inadvertent, but effective, anticipation campaign.
