Reducing the size of a smartwatch without sacrificing autonomy is by no means obvious, and yet that’s exactly what Lei Jun’s company promises with the Xiaomi Watch S5 41 mm, the new more compact variant of its premium smartwatch, freshly launched in China (alongside the series Xiaomi 18 Pro).
Despite the smaller case designed for slender wrists, the battery grows by 84% compared to the previous model, for a claimed autonomy of up to 14 days.

The new Watch S5 41 features a 1.32″ AMOLED display, with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, designed to stay legible even under direct sunlight. The design emphasizes a luxurious aesthetic, available in Black, Sea Salt Blue, Ceramic White, Transparent Edition, the latter offered as the more premium variant of the lineup.
The 590 mAh battery marks an 84% increase over the predecessor Watch S4 41 mm, a leap that translates into up to 14 days of autonomy. The device also includes a dedicated GPS for tracking sports activities and is compatible with both Android and iOS, with HyperOS 4 already installed at factory.

Xiaomi Watch S5 41 mm debuts in China at 1,299 yuan (approximately €169 at the current exchange) for the standard finishes, while the Ceramic White variant rises to 1,499 yuan (approximately €195). The most expensive model is the Transparent edition, selling at 2,499 yuan, about €327 at the current rate.
Xiaomi has not yet confirmed whether the model will also arrive outside the Chinese market. Anyway, Watch S5 (46 mm) is already with us, so it is not to be ruled out that the 41 mm version will also find space.
