On the eve of the official presentation in China, Xiaomi released on Weibo the first sample photographs taken with Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, providing a concrete preview of what the new imaging system developed with Leica is capable of, about which the company has also confirmed the technical specifications.

The new camera module pairs a 200 MP main sensor (1/1.28″) with a 200 MP periscope telephoto (1/1.56″), with an aperture of f/2.4 and a native focal length of 75 mm, capable of a 3.2x optical zoom and a lossless zoom up to 12.8x, as well as macro focusing up to 12 cm away.
According to Xiaomi, the new configuration increases the light captured by 280% on the Pro model and by 83% on the Pro Max compared to the previous generation.
