On October 6, vivo will bring to India the new V80, the latest chapter of its V series dedicated to photography and endurance. The new model mainly focuses on a clear leap in terms of battery, with a capacity never before reached by a device in the series.
Although the launch concerns the Indian market, it remains a smartphone to keep an eye on (also in light of the Italian release of the previous vivo V70 e V70 FE).
vivo V80: display, cameras and extra-large battery
Regarding the specifications that have emerged so far, vivo V80 features a 6.59″ OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, a refresh rate up to 144 Hz, over a billion colors supported and a local peak brightness that reaches up to 5,000 nits, with a minimum of just 1 nit for a better performance in low-light conditions.
The camera system relies on three rear sensors: a 50 MP main Sony LYT-700V with optical stabilization, an ultra-wide-angle and a periscope telephoto 50 MP Sony IMX8822. The front camera is 50 MP, with a 92-degree field of view and autofocus. All sensors are equipped with ZEISS optics.
A rounding out the package is the battery, the largest ever mounted on a V-series model: 7,200 mAh, paired with 90W FlashCharge fast charging.
On the software front, V80 arrives with OriginOS 7 and the promise of six years of security updates. While waiting for the October launch (and any news about its release in Europe), we recommend taking a look at the brand’s latest flagships arriving in Italy, vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max.
