nubia NaviX Ultra official: the first smartphone with an AI agent has arrived

nubia has officially launched in China NaviX Ultra, and the heart of the device isn’t the spec sheet itself, as solid as it is, but the AI agent that accompanies it: an orange dedicated button that provides direct access to the Doubao assistant, to the point of making NaviX Ultra the first device registered with the competent Chinese authorities for an intelligent agent model.

Before the official debut, the initial details about nubia NaviX Ultra had already drawn attention to the device; now that the launch is a reality, it is precisely the AI agent that sets it apart from the rest of the range.

On board sits the Doubao assistant by ByteDance: according to reports, nubia NaviX Ultra would be the first device registered with the competent Chinese authorities for an intelligent agent model, a detail that shifts the device’s focus from pure specifications to an AI-guided user experience.

The dedicated button calls up the assistant and also integrates the fingerprint sensor function, the first of its kind. The AI supports dialect recognition, voice activation, and a full-duplex voice model named Seed, which allows interrupting the assistant’s responses while it is still speaking.

Doubao is built around four main capabilities: understanding user commands, completing the requested tasks, remembering relevant information over time, and ensuring safety during these operations.

The assistant can manage tasks that involve multiple applications simultaneously, going beyond the simple voice reply that characterizes most of those currently on the market.

It can recognize products shown on screen and direct the user straight to the purchase page, can manage calls using customized response scripts, and sort notifications by importance (keeping the essential ones at the top).

The assistant is optimized for third-party services such as Cao Cao Mobility and Lark, enabling operations like booking a private taxi or checking transport schedules without leaving the chat window. It can also perform some tasks in the background and handle multiple requests in a queue.

Obviously there are also features related to study and work, such as the ability to start a recording during a meeting, then transcribe and summarize the content. It is possible to search within the recording using natural language, without the need to reread the entire transcript.

Around the AI agent, nubia NaviX Ultra still builds a high-end hardware package. The panel is a LTPO 2.0 6.78″ display with a variable refresh rate up to 144 Hz, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, plus support for DC dimming and PWM at 2,160 Hz.

At the helm is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with three memory configurations: 12/512 GB, 16/512 GB and 16 GB with 1 TB storage.

The 7,100 mAh battery supports 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. To manage temperatures during heavy use, the device includes the Galaxy Cooling System cooling solution, based on a 7,100 mm2 vapor chamber.

For the camera setup, NaviX Ultra adopts a 200 MP main sensor, paired with a 50 MP ultra-wide and a 64 MP periscope telephoto.
