During today’s event, the Chinese company refreshed in one fell swoop a large part of its wearable offering: at the center of the presentation are the newly announced Huawei Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro, but these were not the only protagonists.
The news for the brand’s ecosystem continues with two new smartwatches in the main line, Huawei Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro, a model dedicated to monitoring cardiovascular health, Huawei Watch D3, and a new pair of true wireless earbuds, Huawei FreeBuds Neo.
Four different announcements for price bands and uses, but with a common thread: more complete sensors, more refined materials and an increasing focus on daily well-being.
Huawei Watch 6: the lightest smartwatch ever made by the brand
Huawei Watch 6 debuts as the lightest smartwatch ever made by the company: the 42 mm variant weighs just 38 grams with a thickness of 10.2 mm, while the 46 mm version adopts a stainless steel case designed for greater durability.
The display is an AMOLED panel with sapphire glass and a peak brightness rated up to 3,000 nits. On the battery life front, Huawei claims up to 3 days of typical use for the 42 mm model (2 days with Always-On) and up to 4.5 days for the 46 mm model (3 days with AOD), with values rising to 7 and 11 days respectively in power-saving mode; wireless fast charging lets you recover energy for a full day in just 15 minutes.
On the health front, the new updated X-TAP sensor brings monitoring to 11 parameters (vs 10 in the previous generation), paired with a 12-channel PPG sensor, covering areas ranging from basic health to endocrine, cardiovascular and respiratory health.
Also debuting Health Glance, a quick dashboard to view overall health, along with nutrition tracking that sits alongside exercise, sleep and mood already tracked previously.
More than 100 workout modes, the Safety Check function to share real-time location with family, eSIM support for smartphone-free connectivity, and the ability to navigate menus with a simple wrist-rotation gesture.
Huawei Watch 6 will be available in four colors, including the new Arcglow finish, with Bluetooth and NFC connectivity for payments.
Huawei Watch 6 Pro: ceramic and titanium for the premium model
Huawei Watch 6 Pro shares sensors and software features of Watch 6, but raises the bar on materials and finishes: the 46 mm Space Edition features a black ceramic bezel with golden details on an titanium aerospace case, while the 43 mm variant uses a construction entirely in Nano-Tech Ceramic.
The display reaches a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, higher than the base model, always protected by sapphire glass. The battery life mirrors that of Watch 6 for the respective sizes (up to 4.5 days for the 46 mm model and 3 days for the 43 mm in typical use), with the same fast-charging modes.
In addition to the sensors already seen on the base model, Huawei Watch 6 Pro adds ECG detection and access to the Expedition app, designed for outdoor activity. Available colorways include Space Edition, Brown and Silver for the titanium models, and Ceramic Edition and White for the ceramic models.
Huawei Watch D3: 24/7 blood pressure monitoring
Designed for those who want to keep cardiovascular health in check continuously, Huawei Watch D3 uses a system based on a mechanical cuff and high-precision pressure sensor paired with TruSense technology, maintaining ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) over 24 hours as introduced by the previous model, in line with ESH guidelines on frequency and minimum number of measurements.
The main novelty concerns dedicated pre- and post-workout measurements, while at night the cuff inflates quietly to minimize sleep disturbance. The device maintains CE certification as a medical device (CE-MDR).
On the design front, Watch D3 becomes slimmer and lighter than the previous model: thickness drops to 11.3 mm and total weight reduces by about 9%, with a AMOLED 1.92″ display with peak brightness up to 3,000 nits.
Battery life is about 6 days with typical use, dropping to about 1 day if ABPM monitoring is always active; full charging takes around 75 minutes.
Among other features, the device includes a beat-by-beat electrocardiogram, atrial fibrillation detection via a PPG sensor, SpO2 and stress monitoring, and the Health Community function, which allows remote monitoring of family health readings with alerts in case of anomalies.
Huawei FreeBuds Neo: 30dB noise cancellation in a compact case
To cap off today’s announcements are the Huawei FreeBuds Neo, new true wireless earbuds that rely on active noise cancellation rated up to 30 dB across the entire frequency spectrum, thanks to a dual-channel system paired with a third-generation audio chip capable of processing ambient data up to 400,000 times per second with a latency of just 8 microseconds.
The new Turbo driver ranges from 10 Hz to 48 kHz, with high-resolution audio support up to 990 kbps via LDAC and up to 2.3 Mbps in lossless mode on Huawei devices, in addition to 360° spatial audio with head-tracking.
On the battery life front, Huawei claims up to 6.5 hours per charge with ANC active (10 hours with ANC off) and up to 40 total hours counting the charging case, from the compact design nicknamed “Mini Shuttle”.
Each earbud weighs about 4.8 grams and carries an IP55 rating for sweat and dust resistance (applies to the earbuds only, not to the case).
The kit includes three microphones plus a bone-conduction microphone for crystal-clear call quality even in noisy environments, multi-device connectivity, and gesture control on the stem.
How much do Huawei Watch 6, Watch 6 Pro, Watch D3 and FreeBuds Neo cost in Europe
Here is how much the four products will cost on the European market: Huawei Watch 6 starts from €449 for the 42 mm variant and rises to €489 for the 46 mm; Watch 6 Pro is priced at €679 and Watch D3 costs €459, while the FreeBuds Neo are priced at €129.
Details about launch promotions specific to the European market remain to be confirmed, while no precise details are yet available regarding Italy release.
