Honor has officially confirmed that the new devices in the Magic9 series will debut on the debut on the Chinese market on September 28.
Besides announcing the launch date, the manufacturer has previewed in advance the design of the devices, highlighting the distinctive features of the camera system, which is expected to be top-of-the-line.
Among the most interesting new features of this generation are a dual 200 MP camera system and support for a new telephoto lens kit designed for enthusiasts.
Honor Magic9, design revealed ahead of the September launch
From a design standpoint, the official images released by the company reveal very precise stylistic choices. The back of the smartphones is dominated by a large rectangular camera module, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro, within which sit three distinct cutouts.
That most imposing one, located on the left side of the chassis, houses the telephoto camera, the LED flash, and the prestigious ARRI logo, a confirmation of a collaboration aimed at raising the quality of the footage. The other two sensors are placed in separate circular cutouts.
One of the colors shown to the public is the new and distinctive Moss Green. Focusing on the front, the screen features a pill-shaped cutout for the selfie camera and the ToF 3D sensor for facial recognition.
A camera system with no compromises
According to several rumors that have emerged in these hours, the higher-end variants of the lineup could be the first Android smartphones to implement a square-shaped front sensor.
The real strength of the new line lies in the camera specifications. The teasers released by Honor confirm the presence of a rear configuration boasting two 200 MP sensors each. Specifically, the system includes a primary sensor of 1/1,28 inch with a f/1.57 aperture, paired with a telephoto from 1/1,4 inch with an aperture of f/2.6.
To complete an already remarkable technical picture, the devices will offer support for a new 500 mm teleconverter kit, which will be added to the already known 200 mm teleconverter, guaranteeing exceptional versatility for capturing subjects positioned at extremely long distances.
Pre-orders, variants and the new operating system
Awaiting the official unveiling, the company has already opened the pre-order phase for consumers in China. Although the exact number of models that will make up the entire lineup has not yet been openly communicated, recent leaks suggest that the standard version will be accompanied by the higher-end variants Magic9 Pro or Magic9 Pro Max.
Autumn news, however, will not concern solely the hardware component: the company has in fact announced that next week it will unveil to the world its new customized user interface MagicOS 11, based on Android, intended to energize the new generation of smartphones.
