As we venture through the August heat, rumors about the upcoming Xiaomi 18 continue. The flagship of Lei Jun’s company is getting closer, in view of the September launch. Now a new leak reveals the colorways in which it will be available at debut, and among the hues there’s one that hasn’t been seen for far too long!
Xiaomi 18 will be available in five color options
In recent years, red has never been a staple color in the flagship’s palette.
Xiaomi 15 was introduced in black, white, green, purple, and in the special Liquid Silver edition, while the exclusive variant Custom could be customized in many additional tones, including red, yellow and orange.
Despite this rainbow of colors, Xiaomi 17 has appeared in black, white, green and blue in China, while in Italy white was replaced by pink. A less varied assortment, perhaps to keep costs down.
The next Xiaomi 18 could add a touch more with the return of the color Red. Red will join black, white, blue and pink, at least according to the Chinese insider Digital Chat Station. Clearly the leak concerns China, but let’s keep our fingers crossed for Italy as well.

It’s worth noting that the insider does not reveal with precision which shade of red the Xiaomi flagship will wear. We don’t say this out of nitpicking but for a very specific reason: Redmi K100 Pro Max was introduced in the new color Cabernet Sauvignon Red, which recalls the Dark Cherry of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
So the natural question arises: will the Xiaomi 18 be available in pure red or burgundy red?
