In Italy we are still strongly tied to 4G: not by chance in recent hours the new budget phone Redmi A7 Pro, with only LTE connectivity. A few hours later, here comes a new low-cost but dedicated to the Indian market: Redmi 15A presents itself as an economical alternative aimed at 5G, with plenty of battery and a large and smooth display.

The latest arrival joins Xiaomi’s budget phone lineup, under the Redmi brand. It’s an enticing-looking solution, with a 6.9″ display diagonal and an anachronistic waterdrop notch (though reduced). The panel enjoys a high refresh rate of 120 Hz, touch sampling up to 240 Hz, low blue light emission certified by TÜV and a peak brightness up to 800 nits.
Redmi 15A is powered by the chipset T8300 from Unisoc, an octa-core solution with 5G modem designed for affordable devices. All of this is powered by 6,300 mAh of battery, with 15W fast charging and support for reverse charging (to use the phone as a power bank).

As of now Redmi 15A 5G has been launched in India and it remains to see if it will arrive at our latitudes (perhaps with a different name or under the POCO brand). Regarding price, the device is offered in three versions, starting from approximately €119 at the current exchange rate for the base 4/64 GB model.
