The 2026 lineup from Samsung looks set to be full of releases, not only for smartphones but also for the debut of its premium tablet family. The strategy should see the return of Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ after the halt of the current generation, with a larger battery and a MediaTek heart under the hood.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+: what we know about the new premium tablet, coming this year
The GSMA certification body suggests another strategic shift by the company. After the pause of Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, the next generation should skip the standard model altogether as happened with Tab S10+ and S10 Ultra. So there would be:
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ – labeled SM-X846
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra – labeled SM-X946
Regarding the release window, we look toward the third quarter of the year: likely the tablets will make another appearance at the beginning of September, in line with the current generation (but this is only a hypothesis). Waiting to learn more, the first details about the battery of the future devices emerge.
Galaxy Tab S12+ would have on-board batteries labeled EB-BX846AAE and
EB-BX846AAY, both with a nominal capacity of 10,392 mAh. This should translate to a typical capacity of 10,500 or 10,600 mAh, a capacity higher than the 10,090 mAh of Galaxy S10+.
Below you will find a first draft of the technical sheet, awaiting more rumors and official confirmation. Since the Tab S11 series is powered by the Dimensity 9400+, the next premium tablet should mount the Dimensity 9500, i.e., the current MediaTek flagship SoC. In case of an announcement of the 9500+ version, the devices could adopt the latest chipset in terms of release order.
