The foldable smartphone sector is gearing up to welcome two highly anticipated protagonists. A year exactly after the debut of the previous generation, the winged company seems poised to launch its new line of clamshell smartphones, which should include both the standard variant and the Ultra model.
Although the official announcement has not yet been issued, the base model of the new Razr 70 family has recently appeared in the database of the well-known Chinese certification body TENAA.
This bureaucratic step, crucial for the Asian market release, has revealed in advance almost every technical detail of the device.
The device, identified by the code XT2657-2, confirms that the launch window is imminent, with a presentation probably scheduled for next month, following precisely the timeline of the previous series unveiled in April.
Motorola Razr 70: All Leaked Specifications
The aesthetics and usability of clamshell smartphones depend heavily on the quality of their displays, and Motorola’s new foldable seems set to offer a top-tier experience. When opening the device, users will face a large 6.9-inch OLED panel, featuring a resolution of 1,080 x 2,640 pixels.
Completing the design is an equally important external screen, also OLED, reaching a diagonal of 3.63 inches and a resolution of 1,056 x 1,066 pixels.
From an ergonomic standpoint, the manufacturer has worked to keep the body slim and manageable: the spec sheet lists a thickness of just 7.2 mm when open and a total weight of 188 g, thus ensuring a comfortable grip and compact pocket footprint.
The certification document does not specify the commercial name of the processor chosen by Motorola for Razr 70, but reveals the presence of an octa-core architecture capable of reaching a maximum clock frequency of 2.75 GHz.
The real surprise lies, however, in the memory options. The device could be configured with high-end specs, offering up to 18 GB of RAM and internal storage capable of reaching 1 TB.
To support such demanding hardware and two high-resolution displays, engineers have integrated a dual-battery system. The combined capacity stands at around 4,500 mAh, a noteworthy figure for a clamshell-form factor phone.
Data security and unlocking are entrusted to a practical fingerprint reader probably positioned on the side bezel.
The rear will host a module consisting of two cameras, both equipped with generous 50 MP sensors. The most interesting aspect concerns the second lens: the certification specifications explicitly mention support for a 3x optical zoom.
Finally, the front camera, cleverly embedded in the inner foldable display, boasts a 32 MP sensor.
