Only a few months have passed since the launch of the Nova 15 series, but the Asian tech giant is already working on the next generation. The rumors start with a bang, pointing to the future flagship model: here is what we can expect from Huawei Nova 16 Ultra, according to the first rumors directly from China.
Early rumors about Huawei Nova 16 Ultra: what to expect from the next flagship model of the series

The source is Digital Chat Station, the usual Chinese insider who has often proven reliable. According to the latest updates, the next flagship model would be equipped with a LTPO 6.84″ diagonal display and 1.5K resolution. To drive it all, we should have a flagship chipset from the Kirin 9000 series, powered by a battery of around 7,000 mAh.
The camera department would rely on a brand-new 50 MP sensor with a 1/1.3″ size, accompanied by a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens and a multispectral sensor. The latter is almost always present on Huawei smartphones and enables greater color fidelity.
Unfortunately the insider doesn’t add anything else, except to “confirm” the presence of wireless charging support. The name is never specified, but all clues point toward Huawei Nova 16 Ultra, arriving later in the year.
Currently the series is moving on two tracks: in December we witnessed the launch in China of the Nova 15 family. The current Ultra model features an OLED LTPO 6.84″ display, the Kirin 9010S chipset, a 6,500 mAh battery, and a triple 50 MP camera with sensors equipped with an RYYB filter and a variable aperture for the main sensor.
Meanwhile, the European scene is slightly out of step: in January we saw the debut in Italy of Nova 14 Pro. Now it remains to be seen whether the next Western models will be the current Nova 15 family or if we will skip directly to the new Nova 16 lineup.
