vivo is now a well-established name in the world of high-end mobile photography, but its plans for the future seem to go beyond smartphones. According to the latest rumors, the Chinese company appears to be preparing to enter the market of compact video cameras with a new gadget designed specifically for content creators.
This is a strategic move aimed straight at the heart of the vlogging segment, where today the DJI Osmo Pocket series dominates almost unchallenged.
vivo Vlogging Camera: plans for the new compact device revealed

The goal of vivo is clear: to offer creators a dedicated, lightweight tool capable of delivering professional footage without the need to carry heavy equipment or complex external stabilization systems.
Rumors circulating since last December indicate that this new device should officially debut by the end of 2026. Even though vivo has not yet released details on specs or prices, industry insiders already position the product as the top rival to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and the upcoming Pocket 4.
We are talking, therefore, about a pocket-sized camera that should integrate a mechanical gimbal for stabilization, a touch screen for quick control and the ability to record video at ultra-high resolution. If these forecasts are confirmed, users would have a new alternative among brands that currently dominate the space, such as DJI, GoPro and Insta360.
Furthermore, given the collaboration between vivo and Zeiss for the X series smartphones, there are those who speculate that this partnership could also be extended to the new camera. Although it remains speculative, the addition of Zeiss would represent a huge advantage, capable of raising the bar for the new camera.
