The next affordable iPhone is just around the corner, according to the latest rumors. The last chapter arrived in February, and the same should happen for iPhone 17e. Initially, a spring launch was targeted, but the latest rumors suggest the phone will arrive by the end of the month, with three new features compared to the previous generation.

The most important novelty would concern the arrival of MagSafe technology, absent on the predecessor (limited to the Qi standard). The new iPhone 17e will introduce support for magnetic wireless charging at 25W, but for now there are no details on battery nor wired charging.

Returning to the upcoming 17e, the smaller model of the line is expected to offer a performance improvement with the transition to the Apple A19 SoC, already seen on board the iPhone 17 series. Finally, there would be the new second-generation C1X modem, along with the N1 network chip.
Moving on to the rest of the specifications and design, there would be no other additions compared to what was seen with iPhone 16e. The budget iPhone is once again expected to feature a Fusion 48 MP camera with 2x optical telephoto integrated, while the storage options would start at 256 GB — 128 GB is now obsolete for this price range.
The aesthetics should not change and this would also apply to the front: we are still talking about a 6.1″ display with no 120 Hz refresh rate and not even Dynamic Island. The device would offer the classic notch, for an essentially identical look.
