February will see the debut of the new iPhone 17e (according to rumors so far), an affordable addition to Cupertino’s flagship line. Compared to its predecessor there will be several improvements, and yet it seems there will be no need to fear price increases: revealed by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, a source whose reliability is beyond question.
iPhone 17e will be better, but there is good news on the price
The upcoming affordable iPhone is on track to arrive this month; rumors point to February 19, although Apple is silent for now. The most recent leaks have offered a comprehensive overview of the coming features: the little one of the family should introduce various improvements, starting with support for the MagSafe charging (absent on the predecessor), along with the Apple A19 SoC — the same as iPhone 17.
The other side of the coin would be an unchanged aesthetic, a notch display (no Dynamic Island and 120 Hz) and a single camera.
According to Bloomberg, iPhone 17e should debut at the same price as the predecessor, so $599 in the United States. This means there shouldn’t be price increases internationally, so the price in Italy would remain at €729.
The absence of price increases is good news also in light of the memory rumors: it seems Apple has definitively scrapped 128 GB, so it would start from 256 GB. In short, if confirmed we would have the same launch price as iPhone 16e but with various improvements and more storage.
