Not just flagship: Xiaomi Pad 8 and 8 Pro near their global launch

The coming months will be crucial for Western Mi Fans: the Xiaomi 17 series seems to be getting closer to its debut, and now we know it won’t be alone. Besides the upcoming flagships, the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro, the brand’s new flagship tablets, are also planned.

Launched in China alongside the 17 family, they are anticipated both globally and in Italy. It remains to be seen when they will arrive, whether alongside the new smartphones or at a later date.

The latest certification seems to lean toward the first hypothesis: Xiaomi Pad 8 and 8 Pro could make an appearance alongside the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra in Global version, although for now there are no certainties.

Both tablets have been certified internationally, at various bodies. This means that the launch is not that far: the most plausible time window is the MWC 2026, scheduled from 2 to 5 March. Last year the brand’s flagship models were launched in the first months of the year, along with the Pad 7 family models.

It is plausible to think that Xiaomi will repeat the same pattern, but we await official confirmation. In the meantime, both Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro have appeared in the databases of various certifying bodies with the codes 25097RP43G and 25091RP04G as well as with their respective commercial names.

What to expect from the new tablets

Although there hasn’t been a Western presentation yet, we already know everything about the new tablets. The Xiaomi Pad 8 range was announced in China last September, so the specs are now known.

Both share an 11.2″ display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and a 9,200 mAh battery. The core changes, still powered by Qualcomm: the standard model uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 while the Pro variant relies on the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

That latter is the previous flagship SoC from the chipmaker, so we are dealing with a high-end solution. Compared to the smaller one in the series we have an improved camera (50 MP) and faster charging (up to 67W).
