Redmi yields to the charm of Gaming Phones: waterproof and with an integrated fan

In Redmi’s future there is a Gaming Phone with a physical fan: revealed by a well-known Chinese insider, unveiling some details of this mysterious phone. We are in a period where many brands are targeting the gaming market, a real revival aiming to offer exclusive features.

The first smartphone with an integrated fan is REDMAGIC, and since then the manufacturer has made this feature one of its strengths. But now it seems that rivals are interested in attacking the mobile gamer segment, and we will certainly see some exciting things.

The first step was taken by Honor Win: a flagship with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 equipped with a physical fan and an IP-rated waterproof chassis, all enhanced by a 10,000 mAh battery.

Even the latest REDMAGIC 11 Pro is equipped with a small fan and IP certification, adding a selfie camera under the display (for a full-screen experience) and an advanced cooling system with fluorinated liquid.

If in these cases we are dealing with the top tier, OnePlus Turbo 6 prefers to stay in the upper-mid-range category – offering a 165 Hz display, a 9,000 mAh battery and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

The new Redmi gaming smartphone

According to the Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, Redmi will soon join the party with its Gaming Phone. The device is expected to belong to a new series and aim high, featuring the Dimensity 9500.

There would be a physical fan and an IP68-rated waterproof chassis, as well as a 1.5K display and a high refresh rate. The leaker also emphasizes the design: the phone would have a minimalist aesthetic, without aggressive lines and LED lights – as is traditional for classic-styled gaming phones, like those from REDMAGIC.

Redmi’s First Gaming Smartphone Experiment

In reality the future smartphone will not be the first gaming model from Xiaomi’s brand. In the past the company launched Redmi K50 Gaming, arriving here with POCO. In this case the Chinese house followed the category’s tradition with a futuristic design, rear-mounted triggers and a 144 Hz panel.

However the upcoming smartphone is expected to take a different approach and, in a sense, ‘more modern’: an look accessible to all (perhaps with the option of a gaming-design version) and a physical fan, without sacrificing IP rating.
