Last updated: January 13 – After unveiling the design and confirming some of the key specifications, Realme Neo 8 now has an official launch date. The China launch is scheduled within a few days, and it’s surely a phone to watch, as it could arrive in the West as part of the GT series.
Let’s take stock of what’s known so far, including the first Geekbench benchmarks and the latest news about the display.
Realme Neo 8, official launch date: in the meantime the gaming phone appears on Geekbench
The Realme Neo 8 is scheduled for January 22: as noted in the opening, the debut will take place in China, but it’s not out of the question that it might also appear here. The brand usually brings Neo-series devices as part of the GT family, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Meanwhile Geekbench has seen the device’s first benchmarks, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. It will be a high-end model, with an eye on gaming (just look at the special Cyber Purple variant) but without compromising the camera, given the presence of a periscope telephoto lens.
During a brief event (January 12), Realme unveiled the features of the new Sky Display by Samsung: it is an M14 panel with a 165 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits. The phone has also been TENAA certified, an addition that lets us discover more details of the technical specs.
