OpenAI launches ChatGPT Go for everyone: AI costs €8 per month but opens up to advertising

The AI landscape has just undergone a significant transformation with the global announcement of ChatGPT Go, the new subscription plan aimed at bridging the gap between the free version and the Plus premium plan. Priced at €8 per month, it positions itself as one of the most affordable advanced AI solutions on the market.

The move by OpenAI responds to a clear need: to offer greater computing power and broader limits for users. However, the affordability brings with it a novelty for the platform: the introduction of advertisements.

From a functionality standpoint, ChatGPT Go represents a notable leap in quality compared to the base version. Subscribers indeed get ten times higher access in terms of messages sent, file uploads, and image generation, all based on the fast model GPT-5.2 Instant.

Compared to the free version, the Go plan also guarantees larger memory and a wider context window, allowing the system to remember a greater number of useful details during prolonged conversations or complex projects.

However, the Go plan isn’t all sunshine and roses: the company has confirmed that Advertising will debut in both the free tier and the new €8 per month plan. The ads, which will start testing soon in the United States, will be placed contextually at the bottom of the responses provided by the bot, aiming to pair relevant services or products with the topics of the conversation.

In addition to the Go plan, ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Pro remain active: only premium subscriptions will continue to offer a completely ad-free experience and access to the most advanced reasoning models, such as GPT-5.2 Thinking or GPT-5.2 Pro.
