Instagram and Threads say goodbye to politics: the advice will be hidden

In view of the presidential elections to be held in the United States this year, the social networks of Meta there appear to be intentions to change the type of posts recommended for users, in order to exclude matrix content policy. This doesn't mean users won't see anymore political posts from those who follow, but only that they will no longer find similar content among the advice.

Adam Mosseri, head of divisions Instagram e Threads of Meta, announced that starting from the next few weeks the algorithm will no longer recommend political content to users on its social networks. The new policy will apply to post, like, real and the feed explore, as well as to identification suggested on the two social networks. Subscribers, however, will be able to adjust whether or not to view political content from the settings.

"Our definition of political content it is the one that probably concerns topics related to government or elections; for example, posts about laws, elections, or social topics” said a spokesperson, who later added: “Global issues are in complex situations e dynamics, meaning this definition will evolve as we continue to engage with the people and communities who use our platforms and external experts to refine our approach".
