Anyone who reads our reviews will know that we have been following Hisense for some time now, a brand that has convinced us above all for the quality and value for money of its smart TVs. However, few know that the multinational based in Tsingtao not only produces good televisions, but has something to do poco also officially opened in Italy a division for the production and distribution of small household appliances.
A business unit also boosted by the acquisition of Gorenje, a brand with over 70 years of experience known not only for the classic technologically sophisticated large appliances, but also for its designer kitchen products: and it is perhaps precisely from the union of the two brands that were born the new Hisense Hi Move cyclonic vacuum cleaners, a series made up of four models that stand out for their refined design and a high value for money.
We have had the opportunity to test the top-of-the-range model for some time Hisense HiMove HVC6464A, which with its flow rate of 16 litres/second, low noise level and the possibility of transforming itself into a floor washer has all the credentials to enter the market straight ahead and annoy all its direct competitors.
Hisense Hi Move HVC6464A review: good first time?
Design and materials
The entire lineup of cyclonic vacuum cleaners of the brand is characterized by a refined and decidedly elegant design. And it is the same for theHisense HiMove HVC6464A, which is characterized by a visually light structure, made of smoky gray polycarbonate and by a whole series of details towards which it is clear that Hisense has focused part of its energies.
The motor body has the classic pistol grip, with an easily accessible trigger with which you can turn the vacuum cleaner on or off: the operation is of the "on / off" type and, in a nutshell, it will not be necessary to always press the trigger to operate the device.
In the back there is an LED display that integrates a touch button with which you can manage the different suction modes. Also on the screen, then, you will have a whole series of information available, such as the residual charge, the mode in use and the possible need to clean the suction pipe or empty the dirt container.
What really didn't drive me crazy is the capacity of the dirt container, which remains in the market average. Hisense HiMove HVC6464A uses a 0,5 liter tank which, of course, is more than enough even for a relatively large environment, but there are now more capacious models on the market, and I would have liked to see the brand make an extra effort especially for its first vacuum cleaner line.
It must be said however, the whole structure of theHisense HiMove HVC6464A is very compact and, above all, the vacuum cleaner is very light: in a segment where practically all the protagonists weigh at least 4/4.5 kg, Hisense has managed to produce a device that does not exceed 3.5 kg, a factor which, combined with an almost “genius” suction tube makes the product super easy to handle.
And the secret of this handling is the Flexi tube. In essence, it is a suction tube which not only can be bent at 90° thanks to a snap mechanism, but which integrates a connection joint to the motorized brush which allows practically any type of inclination, even lateral. And it works.
What really disappointed me, however, is the wall charging base: regardless of the fact that I'm not a fan of this type of solution, I much prefer the floor-standing bases, but in that of theHisense HiMove HVC6464A it is not possible to accommodate all the other accessories of the vacuum cleaner.
Suction power and floor washing
To animate theHisense HiMove HVC6464A a 400w brushless motor takes care of it, capable of guaranteeing a suction power of 23.000 Pa. Now, let's be clear, we are not talking about a suction power that makes one cry for a miracle, but it must be said that thanks to the motorized brush 2- in-1, however, it is a product that in its price range guarantees quality cleaning: the brush is soft and is able to adapt to any type of floor, it integrates six LEDs to illuminate the areas where you go to clean and is easily disassembled for washing.
In any case, thanks to this combination, this wireless cyclonic vacuum cleaner managed to guarantee good cleaning on practically all surfaces in our tests: it will practically never happen to have to pass twice over an area to vacuum the dirt, unless whether it's large debris or super stubborn dirt.
There are three suction methods and, unfortunately, theHisense HiMove HVC6464A it is not equipped with any sensor for automatic detection of dirt. And it's really a shame, because it is a mode that we now find in many models, even cheaper than this Hisense, and which allows not only to optimize surface cleaning, but above all to improve energy consumption and, consequently, battery life.
All brushes can be connected directly to the motor as well as to the suction pipe and do their job without any problems. There is also a smaller motorized brush, very useful for cleaning sofas and mattresses, which has an excellent grip on fabric surfaces and simulates the "beating" effect to optimize cleaning.
Furthermore, it is possible to connect an additional accessory to the larger motorized brush (which always comes out in the package, which will enrich theHisense HiMove HVC6464A of the floor cleaning function.
The concept is practically identical to what we find in automatic robots: water will have to be inserted into the adapter, which will then be distributed on the floor using a microfiber cloth.
It therefore goes without saying that, also in this case, more than a real cleaning function, that ofHisense HiMove HVC6464A 1 it is a way in which you can polish the floor and eliminate the last remaining dust residues. In short, to eliminate the most stubborn stains you will have to go through it a few more times, but in the end the result can always be obtained.
Battery life
According to the company, the battery of theHisense HiMove HVC6464A it should be able to guarantee up to 60 minutes of battery life. Performance that, all in all, we found in our tests but (obviously) using the vacuum cleaner with the least powerful suction mode. In fact, if the engine were pushed to the maximum, the battery drain would be much more marked.
In short, all in all theHisense HiMove HVC6464A it is a vacuum cleaner capable of guaranteeing autonomy which certainly won't be a problem even in larger environments, the good thing is that the battery is removable and it can also be charged independently of the vacuum cleaner.
Price and considerations
The official selling price of theHisense HiMove HVC6464A it is 329,00 euros but, through the box below, it is possible to buy it with a 24% discount on Amazon, for 249,00 euros. Now, I'll be honest, if it hadn't been on a discount, I don't think I would have felt comfortable recommending its purchase, because you can find models with more powerful engines for over 300 euros, but the discounted price is the right one.
Sure, it's not a perfect product, but it still has good suction power, it's full of accessories in the package, the structure is solid and the flexible hose changes the rules of the game in terms of handling. Too bad only for the charging dock, on which those of Hisense should have paid more attention.
