After months of imagining what the successor of the first Mi MIX Fold, Xiaomi has finally launched the new Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. The new leaflet from Lei Jun's company takes all the features and technical specifications of its predecessor and evolves them, both aesthetically and in terms of performance.

Design and display
Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 wants to amaze with its ergonomics, showing off a thickness of only 5,4 mm and 11,2 mm when closed, for a total weight of 262 grams. To understand, the new Samsung Galaxy ZFold 4 has a thickness of 6,3 mm, while Huawei Mate Xs 2 it also measures 5,4 mm but with an outfold design.
It is available in two colors: Gold and Black.
Obviously, as a good self-respecting "book" folding, we find two displays. The outer one is panel AMOLED E5 un 6,56 "Full HD + (2520 x 1080 pixels) in 21: 9 with refresh rate a 120 Hz, brightness up to 1.000 nits, Dolby Vision support and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The protagonist, the internal one, is instead a panel from 8,02" 2K + (2160 x 1914 pixels) with 360 PPI density, technology LTPO 2.0 with refresh rate up to 120 Hz and maximum brightness of 1.300 nits.
It is one of the very first panels to use technology Eco²OLEDBy eliminating the need for a polarizing layer, the screen is able to reduce energy consumption by 25% and improve image transmission by 33%. To protect everything there is a flexible glass Ultra Thin Glass.
To be in line with such a reduced thickness, Xiaomi has developed a new hinge Micro Waterdrops (because it resembles a drop of water), which allows you to have an even less visible wrinkle, being 18% thinner and 35% lighter thanks to the carbon fiber elements. When the smartphone is closed, this mechanism causes the central part of the panel to retract inside the body, reducing the formation of creases and resulting in a more uniform look.
Features and technical specifications
To move it Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 there is the latest high-end SoC from Qualcomm, that is Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 seen also on Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Thanks to the renewed 4 nm TSMC production process, it is a less energy-intensive and "warm" SoC, but also more powerful, with octa-core CPU (1 x 3,2 GHz + 3 x 2,75 GHz + 4 x 1,8 GHz) and Adreno 730 GPU. To this we add 12 GB of RAM L e 256/512 GB / 1 TB of memory UFS 3.1 (not expandable). The power supply goes through a battery from 4.500 mAh able to quickly recharge up to 67.
Like any self-respecting folding, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is driven by MIUI 13 Fold, the version of the software interface designed specifically for the world of leaflets.
Camera
Thanks to the partnership started with the photography giant, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 also integrates a camera in collaboration with Leica . Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 - Price and release date
Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 was presented in China at a price of 8.999 yuan (approx €1.292) for the 12/256 GB, going to 9.999 yuan (approx €1.435) for the 12/512 GB and finally 11.999 yuan (approx €1.723) for 12 GB / 1 TB. Xiaomi has not yet talked about its marketing on the Global market, but it will most likely remain an exclusive for China.
