OPPO Reno 8Z official 5G: the Reno family is expanding again

It has not been long since the market debut of the Reno 8, 8 Pro, 8 Pro + and 8 Lite, but now we welcome yet another model: OPPO Reno 8Z 5G. A smartphone that aims to further enrich the proposal in the mid-range of the market: let's find out what its specifications are, including technical data, price and availability on the market.

Design and display

Compared to other models of the Reno 8 series, OPPO Reno 8Z 5G has a simpler look, with a photographic module in line with the rest of the body. There are two colors available: Downlight Gold and Starlight Black. It has dimensions of 159,9 x 73,2 x 7,66 mm, a weight of 181 grams and houses a screen AMOLED da 6,43 "Full HD + (2400 x 1080 pixels) with 409 PPI density, 60 Hz refresh rate, touch sampling up to 180 Hz and SCHOTT Xensation Up protection. The fingerprint sensor is optical and is embedded in the screen.

Specifications

It is confirmed: OPPO Reno 8Z 5G it is powered by a Qualcomm System-on-a-Chip Snapdragon 695 5G, the same we saw on OPPO Reno 7Z 5G. This means a 6 nm SoC with octa-core Kryo 660 CPU (2 x 2,2 GHz + 6 x 1,7 GHz), Adreno 619 GPU at 840 MHz, 8 GB of RAM LPDDR4X-2133 e 128 GB UFS 2.2 memory expandable via microSD. The battery is a unit of 4.500 mAh with Super VOOC fast charging support a 33W.

Software side we have Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1, while connectivity includes 5G dual SIM, Wi-Fi 5 ac Dual Band, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS / BeiDou / Galileo / QZSS, NFC, USB Type-C and mini-jack input. Finally, the photographic sector includes a triple sensors from 64 + 2 + 2 MP f/1.7-2.4-2.4 with monochrome and macro sensor, as well as a selfie camera from 16 MP f/2.4. The rear camera also includes the system again Dual Orbit Lights, useful for using these lights as notification LEDs.

Price and availability

OPPO Reno 8Z 5G was officially launched in Thailand at a price of 12.9990 ฿ (approx 322€). For the moment it is not known if and when it will debut in Europe.
