ASUS ROG Phone 6, 6 Pro and 6 Ultimate: what do we know today about the new gaming phones?
Design and display
After the shots dedicated to the alleged prototype, images of TENAA and many other indiscretions, finally let's get to know ASUS ROG Phone 6 e 6 Pro officially. Both devices have a futuristic look, in the perfect spirit of gaming smartphones; on the back there is a rear display with LED lights (to make everything even more “tamarro”). In the case of the Pro brother it is a color PMOLED solution. For the display, however, we have a panel AMOLED with refresh rate to 165 Hz and a touch sampling rate at 720 Hz, for maximum fluidity. It is a unit from 6.78" with resolution Full HD + (2448 x 1080 pixels), Gorilla Glass Victus protection and a fingerprint reader integrated. There is a processor Pixelwork i6 dedicated exclusively to display management.
We also find ourselves struggling with decidedly impressive devices, with a thickness of 10.39 mm and a weight of approx 229 grams. To all this, we add a feature that is previously unpublished, but which can certainly be useful in certain gaming sessions, but above all for mobility. Indeed, the ROG Phone 6 range are equipped with IPX4 certification for splashing water and will be the first to get it in this category.
Technical specifications and features
The technical specifications of ASUS ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro have been a certainty since before the debut: the two top of the range mount the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 and, as for memories, they are anything but narrow (as we had already learned thanks to AnTuTu). The standard model is equipped with 12 / 16 GB of RAM L while the Pro version adopts well 18 GB of LPDDR5 RAM; in both cases they are present 256 / 512 GB of storage UFS 3.1. The cooling terms there is an advanced and improved system: according to ASUS it is able to lower the CPU temperature up to a maximum of 10 ° C. The new system Game Cool 6 uses three different methods, namely a Boron Nitrude (BN) solution, an enlarged vapor chamber and several (large) graphite sheets.
In addition, ASUS also launched the fan AeroActive Cooler 6 to further improve cooling; for the first time it will be made with technology thermoelectric, in material Peltier, but what does it mean? It means that the fan is activated based on the recorded heat, so it will go to cool the smartphone as soon as it reaches certain temperatures. This choice could actually change the rules of the game a bit, but clearly we need to see what the actual results are.
The battery of ROG Phone 6 and the 6 Pro is a pretty roomy, well-sized unit 6.000 mAh (dual cell), complete with fast charging support from 65 (for both the basic model and the Pro version). Are present two Type-C ports, one side and one along the lower edge. The rest of the features include a Dual Speaker configuration (with Dirac audio), back touch buttons, a side pressure sensor and Android 12 software side. There is no shortage of GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and a mini-jack for headphones.
Camera
The photographic sector of both gaming tops consists of a triple camera with a Sony main sensor IMX766 da 50 MP, accompanied by a wide angle 13 MP and one lens macro from 5 MP. On the front we have a Sony IMX663 selfie camera from 12 MP.

The new top of the range of the brand are already available for purchase in Italy. ASUS ROG Phone 6 is present in versions from 12 / 256 GB at the price of €1.099 and in that from 16 / 512 GB a €1.199 (with AeroActive Cooler 6 included). The older brother ASUS ROG Phone 6 Pro can be purchased only in the variant from 18 / 512 GB a €1.399 (always with fan included).
