With a price of 419.99 euros discounted on Amazon, the DreameBot D10 Plus it is definitely a competitive robot vacuum cleaner. Because with its 4000 Pa of suction power, all the quality of the brand and the ease of finding spare parts on Amazon, the intuitiveness of Xiaomi Home and a self-emptying base with a super 2.5-liter container, the Xiaomi's new robot vacuum cleaner and floor cleaner is certainly one of the most interesting of the moment, also (and above all) for its value for money.
It is a reliable, solid product, but one that is entering an increasingly competitive market full of alternatives where, in some cases, you can also find products that use a new floor washing system with rotating mops. But the point is this: for this new type of washing you have to give up self-cleaning, and for many (myself included) the possibility of forgetting to empty the dirt container for over 45 days is a convenience. But with the DreameBot D10 Plus will the brand be able to carry on the tradition of quality products sold at decent prices? Let's see it together.
DreameBot D10 Plus review: the flagship killer among robotic vacuum cleaners and floor cleaners
There is one fact to consider: the charging base of the DreameBot D10 Plus it is really huge and, for this reason, even the packaging with which the robot will arrive home will be rather bulky, especially if evaluated compared to the other exponents of the category.
Inside we find:
- Main body
- 2.5 liter dust container bags x2
- Charging base
- Floor polishing mop
Design and materials
Aesthetically, DreameBot D10 Plus is the typical and classic robot vacuum cleaner and floor cleaner born under the protective wing of Xiaomi. It is white in color, the entire style of the robot is typical of the brand, and is devoid of any prominent element. Polycarbonate is solid, even if I'm not a fan of white-colored robots, because they get dirty easily over time and the coloring tends to make you notice more any dust or pet hair. In short, I prefer the gray color of the Dreame Z10 Pro (here the review).
And it is precisely from the Z10 Pro that it inherits the major technical and design features. The upper keys are two, there is the laser turret for navigation, and inside there are two separate containers: one for the 400 ml dirt, and one for the 145 ml water. And if the dirt one has an excellent capacity, especially considering that the vacuum cleaner can empty itself, the water one is rather undersized.
You see, the size of containers in robots with a self-cleaning base is one of the biggest contradictions in recent years, at least in this sector. And let me explain: in a product that is capable of self-cleaning, as I see it, it would have been much smarter to integrate a smaller dirt container, in favor of a much larger liquid container. In short, if the container were to be full, the robot could go and empty it in total autonomy. And, instead, nothing: the greatest limit to the autonomy of such products, does not derive from the autonomy of the battery but rather from the presence of too small water containers.
Below, in addition to the super bodied wheels, there is the central roller and a single side brush, but what really makes an impression is the size of the recharging and self-emptying base: it is white, it is 40 cm high, 23 cm wide and 40 cm deep, once the robot vacuum cleaner positions itself for recharging. In short, you will need space to be able to position the product correctly at home.
Suction power and washing quality
As for the suction power and the quality of the wash I will be very direct: the same thing I said about the Dreame Z10 Pro applies. poco to criticize. With its 4000 Pa, it would be strange that the cleaning performance wasn't exactly the strong point of the DreameBot D10 Plus.
Because it is clear that with its suction power it is positioned at the top of the category, and it does so with a rather low noise level and with 4000 Pa it is a factor that should not be underestimated. It goes without saying that with this engine the DreameBot D10 Plus is able to suck up anything it finds in its way, but it does so by avoiding any obstruction in the suction cavity: this is another important factor because, especially when you have 4 dogs in the house that shed tons of hair, some models may have some difficulties in the long run.
However, care must be taken to clean the self-emptying duct of the cleaning base: at least once a month my advice is to check that there are no plugs or obstructions, because during the suction phase the dirt is "compressed" and the probability of filling are many.
In any case, as far as aspiration is concerned, the DreameBot D10 Plus it really is a marvel, and considering how expensive it is poco more than 400 euros, it is even more so. The washing mode is also good even if, without the rotating mops, it continues to be focused more on polishing than on the removal of persistent stains: if you want a deeper cleaning, I suggest you activate the zig-zag mode, which is definitely more performing. although it will take longer (and water) to complete.
And as can be expected from each of the brand's products, the water container integrates a solenoid valve with which it will be possible to decide the precise amount of liquid to be distributed on the surface.
If you install the drawer with the water container, you can decide whether to vacuum and wash, or whether to disable the suction but and through the application it is possible exclude zones in the app for washing only (or for suction only), areas in which - for example - there may be carpets that - among other things - the robot is able to automatically recognize based on a sensitivity level that can be set through the application.
DreameBot D10 Plus it is managed by the Xiaomi Home app, and it is an app that we have come to know so well, that it has now become superfluous to explain its features. It is the ecosystem management application of Xiaomi's products and with robot vacuum cleaners it is really well done.
As in the vast majority of robots managed by the Xiaomi app, rooms are created completely independently and it is possible to associate a name to each room: in this way you can also choose between cleaning in zones or cleaning in rooms, which can also be repeated twice consecutively. It is also possible to decide how often to activate the robot's self-emptying system, or to set the degree of sensitivity of the carpet recognition or the DND (do not disturb) mode.
You can also activate the scheduled cleaning programs, each of which can be customized according to cleaning methods, areas to be cleaned and - clearly - at the time and it is possible to manage with extreme simplicity also the virtual walls and exclusion zones: in this way it will be possible to prevent the robot from cleaning beyond a certain border, or in a particular area of the floor. And yes, the precision with which the vacuum cleaner from Xiaomi follows these directives is centimeter.
Good battery: DreameBot D10 Plus integrates a 5200 mAh that I have never been able to completely discharge to clean my house, even at maximum suction power. With these settings, for an environment of approximately 70 square meters the robot will use approximately 50% of the charge, making it perfect for even larger environments.
And here we return to the real limit of this product: when you have large rooms, you will not have to worry about the battery, but about the water in the container which, probably, will need to be filled when you exceed 150 square meters for cleaning.
Price and considerations
The official price of the DreameBot D10 Plus is 499,99 euros on Amazon but, through the box below, it will be possible to buy it at a discount at 419,99 euros. It is also possible to buy it through the official website of the brand (clicking here) and, again on the site, you will be able to receive as a gift additional envelopes to be inserted in the self-cleaning tower: to participate in the giveaway click here.
The most interesting feature that made me appreciate this model in particular, I haven't told you yet: it is super fast, and thanks to the integrated navigation system it is able to clean about 1 square meter per minute. If you then add an excellent suction power, a self-emptying base with rather large bags and a noise level poco annoying, you realize that at this price the DreameBot D10 Plus it really is an alternative to consider.
Its only limit? The usual: too small a water container.
