While in Xiaomi announced what next smartphones will receive the major update, the MIUI 13 proves to be the harbinger of other innovations. In itself, the stable update did not satisfy the Western users very much, given the not negligible differences between MIUI 13 China and Global / EEA. In parallel to the stable branch, Xiaomi is continuing to update the MIUI 13 Beta, as shown by the various innovations that are being implemented.
A new MIUI update improves the security of Xiaomi smartphones
In a previous article, we have analyzed the changes applied by Xiaomi to the MIUI 13 Beta, with news for the Control Center, fingerprint sensor, file manager, App Vault and sound sector. At this round, however, the update only concerns the Emergency SOS mode, one of the various options that Xiaomi makes available to safeguard security. Until now, this mode had allowed users to press the power button 5 times to start a loud sound and a call to emergency numbers. With this update, two important functions are added, namely thesending a photo of the environment and one environmental registration of 5 seconds.
As anticipated, for the moment this remains a novelty present only within the MIUI 13 Beta, specifically in the version 22.4.6. You can still install it on your smartphone, as long as you know what you are doing; alternatively, there are western ports in the form of Xiaomi.eu.
