OPPO Reno 7, 7 Pro and 7 SE official: all about the new series
Design and display
The design of the series OPPO Reno 7 has a whole new look. The manufacturer has chosen to overturn the photographic sector, adopting a module much more similar to Realme GT Neo 2 than the previous models (albeit with a layout in its own unique way). Compared to the standard model, the Pro one has a different processing of the module, divided between a glossy part and a slightly raised knurled part for the primary sensor.
Speaking of dimensions, the base model has a thickness of 7,59 mm and a weight of 185 g, the Pro of 7,45 mm and 180 g and the SE of 7,45 mm and 171 g. The bezels on the Pro have been further optimized, with a screen-to-body ratio of 92,8%. Let's move on to the displays, in all 3 cases with a panel AMOLED Full HD + (2400 x 1080 pixels) in 20: 9 with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, refresh rate a 90 Hz and touch sampling at 180 Hz. Let it be on Reno 7 than on the model SE there is a screen from 6,43 ", while on the model Banco Pro da 6,55 ".
Also for all three models the colors do not vary, there are three: Morning Gold, Starry Night Black and Star Rain Wish. The back has been refined with what is called an “aerospace-grade lithographic technology”, with which to recreate a reticular texture. On the Pro model there is an intriguing detail: the protrusion of the rear camera is exploited for the insertion of a notification LED ring.
For the moment there is no OPPO Reno 7 Pro +, differently from what was previously rumored, so let's focus on the three models officially unveiled. On OPPO Reno 7 we find it Snapdragon 778G, Qualcomm 6 nm chip including octa-core Kryo 670 CPU (1 x 2,4 GHz A78 + 3 x 2,2 GHz A78 + 4 x 1,9 GHz A55), Adreno 642L GPU and 8 / 12 GB of RAM LPDDR4X e 128 / 256 GB of non-expandable UFS 2.1 storage. The smartphone also boasts a vapor chamber dissipation system.
Moving on to OPPO Reno 7 Pro, from Qualcomm we move on to MediaTek with the unpublished Dimensity 1200-MAX, 6 nm with 3 GHz octa-core CPU, Mali-G77 MC9 GPU and 8 / 12 GB of RAM LPDDR4X e 256 GB of non-expandable UFS 3.1 storage. The Pro also boasts X-Axys and vibration motor stereo speaker.
Finally, OPPO Reno 7 SE is always based on SoC MediaTek but on the minor Dimensity 900, 6 nm with octa-core CPU (2 x 2,4 GHz A78 + 6 x 2,0 GHz A55), Mali-G68 MC4 GPU and 8 GB of RAM LPDDR4X e 128 / 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage not expandable.
For all three the battery is from 4.500 mAh, while the power of fast charging varies. On OPPO Reno 7 the support is a 60W, climbing to 65W on the Pro model and going down to 33W on the SE model. Connectivity includes 5G dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX HD and LDAC, GPS (dual frequency on the Pro) and USB Type-C. On the other hand, the mini-jack input is absent.
As far as the photographic sector is concerned, OPPO Reno 7 has on his side a photographic sector from 64 + 8 + 2 MP f/1.7-2.2-2.4 with 120 ° wide angle and macro sensor. OPPO Reno 7 Pro boasts a more refined triple camera from 50 + 8 + 2 MP f/1.8-2.2-2.4 with Sony IMX766 primary sensor, 7P lens, 118 ° wide angle and macro. Finally, OPPO Reno 7 SE has a lower configuration from 48 + 2 + 2 MP f/1.7-2.4-2.4 with macro and depth sensor.
For the selfie camera, the two main models show off the brand new camera Sony IMX709, called "Cat Eye”For its low-light performance. It uses a proprietary 22nm OPPO sensor with DOL-HDR functionality, capable of offering 60% improved brightness and 35% reduced noise. In addition, the RGBW (Red-Green-Blue-White) matrix adds white sub-pixels to the canonical RGB grid to improve the rendering in low light.
