Design and construction
From the point of view of the design il KUU Lebook 12.6 takes inspiration from the most famous Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and in fact you have the feeling of owning an extremely device valuable ed elegance.
The first impressions are then confirmed by the materials, as the Chinese manufacturer used solid aluminum for the body, while attached to the main body we find a magnetic keyboard in leatherette, which returns a pleasant feedback to the touch.
The 2-in-1 is then characterized by a good assembly and in daily use there are no creaks or various bends, allowing us to work in peace and without the fear that it may break in mobility.
Among other things, I really think that this is a product perfect for working on the go, therefore on the train or on the plane, because it has rather small dimensions, that is 288 x 205 x 9.5 millimeters for a weight of approx 859 grams.
On the right side we find the volume rocker, the 3.5 mm audio jack input and a system speaker, unlike the left side on which the second speaker are positioned, two USB Type-C ports (both support charging and transmission audio / video), as well as microphones and the status LED. Above there is only the power button which also integrates a fingerprint sensor.
La keyboard flanked by the KUU Lebook 12.6 has US layout, is backlit and has a short stroke, a classic on 2-in-1 devices. I must say that on the whole you can write well since the keys are spaced just right from each other, although the magnetic attachment at the bottom tends to raise the keyboard slightly and make it move in use.
The space dedicated to Wrist Rest it is enough to write and work for several hours, while the touchpad is the right size and supports Windows gestures, but I have always preferred to use an external mouse.
Finally, thanks to the back stand we will be able to tilt the device and use it in multiple ways, both as a tablet and as a notebook.
Aboard KUU Lebook 12.6 we find a display IPS da 12.6 inches diagonal with resolution 2160 1440 pixels x, 3: 2 format, 206 PPI density and support up to 10 touches simultaneously, as well as the capacitive pen.
This is one of the main strengths of the device, as the panel in question is characterized by an excellent color range, a very good contrast, satisfactory viewing angles and a first-class resolution. All this is accompanied by a maximum brightness that is perfect for indoor use.
The frames are not too thick and this favors it in viewing content, making it a good device to be used even in free time and not only in the workplace. Finally, you can also use the supplied capacitive pen, which will give a boost to your productivity.
Hardware and performance
To power the KUU Lebook 12.6 there is a chipset Intel Core i7-8550U, which is inclusive of a quad-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.80 GHz, but which can also reach 4 GHz in the most excited phases, as well as a GPU Intel HD Graphics 620, 8 GB di RAM DDR4 e 512 GB of SSD.
This is a 2-in-1 designed primarily for the productivity and in fact in everyday life it behaves very well both in classic office work and in some light graphic editing operations. With multiple tabs and windows open in the background you won't notice any particular slowdowns and, if you have a mouse to connect to the Lebook, then you can always take the office with you (from a remote / smartworking perspective).
Therefore excellent performance with web browsing, the office package, various management software, but it also performs well enough with amateur video editing. In fact, not having a dedicated graphics card, the performance will be a little more limited, but it is still possible to produce quality content.
Even under high stress, therefore, hardly the KUU Lebook 12.6 reaches high temperatures, as a support we also find the fans that will cool the CPU.
Lato Gaming, as you may have guessed, we are not dealing with a machine designed to play, but despite this the device performs well with titles like League of Legends, DOTA and similar to medium details, as well as with all those games on the Microsoft store.
Connectivity, audio and camera
Il KUU Lebook 12.6 it has two doors USB Type-C Power Delivery and DisplayPort, a 3.5 mm audio jack input, Dual Band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.
The absence of traditional USB ports and the HDMI input have allowed the manufacturer to slim down the thickness of the device, so if you want to use the mouse, a Pen Drive or a microSD card you will need to have a dedicated multiport hub.
From this point of view I have not found any kind of criticality and the 2-in-1 performed very well both in productivity than with del light gaming. In addition, on board there is also a fingerprint sensor integrated in the power button which has proven to be reliable and precise.
Regarding theaudio, the two system speakers are positioned on the sides of the device, which are respectively from 1W each. The volume is therefore on average powerful and overall there is a tendency to favor more high and medium frequencies, rather than low ones.
The situation definitely improves with both a good pair of wired and wireless headphones. Personally most of the time I used the latter and I had a great time while watching movies.
Moving on to cameras, on the back we have a sensor from 5 mega-pixels, while at the front there is one from 2 mega-pixels. Obviously the cameras aboard the KUU Lebook 12.6 are designed exclusively for productivity, so the document scanning or video calls work or university / educational.
Under the body of the KUU Lebook 12.6 we find a battery from 42 Wh, which allows us to have one good autonomy. Indeed, with intense use and maximum brightness I managed to get an average of about 4.30 hours alternating web browsing, application downloads, use of offline software and online tools, as well as some music on Spotify.
Obviously with more conservative use and a lower brightness you can get to without problems 5-6 hours. Personally, I found myself very well, as I almost always managed to close my working days by charging the device only the last few hours.
Conclusions - KUU Lebook 12.6
Il KUU Lebook 12.6 look into the house Microsoft and tries to offer a 2-in-1 designed especially for the productivity it is also perfect for working on the move due to its small size and hardware without sacrifices. Moreover, thanks to the excellent display it will be possible to use it in your free time for watching movies and TV series through the many streaming platforms available to date.
A point in favor of the US company's device is the price. Indeed, the KUU Lebook 12.6 is officially available on The Amazon a 729.99 €, but up to 28 October using the discount code "N27X5QW4”You can take it home to 684.99 €.
