After a long wait Qualcomm has finally launched the new generation of chipsets dedicated to wearables: it is the Snapdragon Wear 4100 and the oversized version 4100+, both devoted to autonomy and maximum integration with Wear OS, Google's operating system for wearable devices.

The new solutions of Qualcomm they will feed the next generation smartwatches. From a strictly hardware point of view it Snapdragon Wear 4100 switch to an octa-core solution with production process a 12 nm (from 28 nm of the 3100 series) and clusters A53, with a maximum frequency of 1.7 GHz. As for the rest of the features we have support for RAM memories L up to 750 MHz; there is also a double ISP (for cameras up to 16 MP), a GPS module, ADSP for audio, a 4G modem (Cat 1/3/4). As for improvements, in addition to performance, Qualcomm's new solutions also offer a faster GPU, support for photographic sensors with a greater number of pixels (from 8 to 16 MP) and an autonomy improved by 25%.
