Following the complaints expressed by the community, from 2019 OnePlus has decided to adapt to the competition, integrating stereo speakers from OnePlus 7 onwards. The manufacturers are aiming to offer a quality audio sector, also through software optimizations. For example with the help of Dolby Atmos, software suite that has taken the place of the Dirac last seen on OnePlus 6. However, some have complained about the scarce options available to the user, a factor that previously was only compensable by relying on the world of modding prior root. Fortunately, a procedure has been discovered that allows you to improve settings of Dolby Atmos without having root permissions. Works both on the series OnePlus 7 / 7 Pro that on subsequent ones, OnePlus 7T / 7T Pro e OnePlus 8 / 8 Pro.

With Dolby Atmos you can fine tune the sound of OnePlus smartphones
This you see above is the default screen for the Dolby Atmos section that you see on the aforementioned OnePlus smartphones. It has only 3 options available: Music, Movie e Dynamic. After performing this procedure, you will get this new screen, much richer in equalization settings:
First of all you have to enable the smartphone to interact with ADB:
- In Settings click on “Info on the phone"
- Click 7 times on the item “Build number"
- If done correctly, the item “Developer options”At the bottom of the Settings menu
- Click on it, look for the item “Allow USB debugging"And enable it
After that you have to install ADB on the Windows computer and interface:
- Download the ADB files and extract them in a convenient folder
- Inside the folder obtained hold down the Shift key and click with the right button and, from the window that appears, click on “Open Powershell window here"
- Connect the smartphone to the PC via USB
- In the screen that appeared on the smartphone display, choose the MTP transfer mode
- In the Powershell screen, type the following command and press Enter:
adb devices
- Confirm the access to the USB debugging requested on the smartphone display
- Re-enter the command:
adb devices
- If done correctly, the phone serial number will appear on Powershell, making you understand that ADB works correctly
At this point we enter the vivo of the guide:
- Type the following command:
adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.oneplus.sound.tuner
- Doing so will uninstall the Dolby Atmos system app
- Install the most complete app (extracted from Razer Phone) by downloading and installing the related APK file.
In case you want to restore the app to the default, you can do it by uninstalling it and, through ADB, enter the following command:
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.oneplus.sound.tuner
