We are all currently experiencing a rather particular situation due to the pandemic of Coronavirus (COVID-19). In fact, both private individuals and companies are forced to follow the rules that impose some organizational changes. Besides this, then, everything is also reflected on revenues, which in the last period are certainly not increasing for most brands. Among these, therefore, we can also count MediaTek, who has been struggling more than expected in recent months.
MediaTek: revenue drops 5% in April
According to the economic results made known by the same MediaTek, it seems that the brand is going through a difficult period. Currently, in fact, revenue dropped by 5%, mainly due to the negative effect of Coronavirus on the month of April. If we take a look at the first three months of the year, when the crisis was still not so strong, the company had grown by 10% on this aspect. This means that the conditions for the beginning of the year were absolutely good.

MediaTek in recent years has been working well on the side of chipset for smartphones. With the latest solutions, in fact, it has managed to regain an important market share, against Qualcomm. This crisis, however, could put the Taiwanese brand in crisis, even if a recovery is expected in June.
