Il coronavirus shows no sign of loosening the media grip, especially in view of the MWC 2020. The Barcelona fair is upon us and several companies have confirmed its presence, given that the medical alert has made reality such as LG and Ericsson desist. To these is now added also ASUS: the Taiwanese company has decided not to take part in the event. Meanwhile, the first alleged image of ASUS ZenFone 7 peeked out on the net.

Smartphone sales in China collapse: Coronavirus is to blame
ASUS ZenFone 7 spotted in the photo, but will not be at MWC 2020
What we see in the image is a smartphone quite different from ASUS ZenFone 6, which came to the fore for the low price but above all for its flip camera. ASUS would have opted for a less "dynamic" approach with one triple camera behind and a perforated display with double selfie camera. The presence of the ID sensor on the back cover would suggest the use of a display again LCD, instead of OLED like all the other top of the range in circulation.
In short, a smartphone that does not look particularly compelling and that perhaps for this reason will not be at MWC 2020, where numerous noteworthy innovations will take hold. The company said:
"Given the current situation, the ASUS EMEA Mobile team has decided to cancel its participation in the next MWC 2020."
