Comparison OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

Construction and design

There is no doubt that this is a clash of titans ... in every sense, because we are talking about two devices from the generous dimensions, mostly OnePlus 7 Pro which has a tonnage above average. In fact, theone-handed use with the latter is difficult (even if the curved edges make it easier to grip) and to avoid the risk of it slipping we will have to put a cover, which goes to further increase the general dimensions. For Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro the speech is similar, but there is no doubt that between the two is the most manageable.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

In this case, therefore, the choice depends on you and yours habits, just as the aesthetic aspect can also be subjective. In fact, both devices have variants with different colors, but in any case Oneplus 7 Pro Nebula Blue for me it remains the most beautiful. This is thanks to the opaque processing of the glass that changes the shade of blue based on the reflection of the light, unlike the glass back cover with Carbon texture present on Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, which in turn is very beautiful and delicate, but not as rival as that.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

For the rest the two present both pop-up room, but that of the Mi 9T Pro thanks to the colored LED turns out to be much more appealing, although it is a few fractions of a second slower than that of its rival. Another similarity between the two concerns theassenza area of wireless charging and the absence of one IPXX certification.

Turning instead to the differences that can be decisive it is necessary to point out two important aspects, namely the presence of the entrance mini jack only on Xiaomi el 'alert slider and stereo speaker instead present only on board the OnePlus. What's more, the latter does not include a headphone adapter in the package.

I have been very hard fought, but mostly using Bluetooth headsets I prefer to have stereo sound, which is certainly much more engaging thanks to the integration of the second speaker into the ear capsule.

Arriving at the display the battle enters the vivo because they go to contrast two very particular panels and assisted by some really very interesting software gems. In more detail, I summarize the technical specifications below:

  • OnePlus 7 Pro: Fluid AMOLED display from 6.67 "Quad HD + (3120 x 1440 pixels) in 19.5: 9 with 515 PPI density, Gorilla Glass 6 protection and HDR 10 + support;
  • Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro: Samsung AMOLED display from 6.39 "Full HD + (2340 x 1080 pixel), density of 403 PPI, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and HDR technology.

An aspect that there will split in half it is the presence of a display with curved edges on OnePlus unlike the panel flat di Xiaomi. The first is certainly more engaging and makes us seem to have only the screen of the device in hand, but I must admit that sometimes it bothered me to see photos or videos with deformations on the sides due to the curvature.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

In spite of this both have some quality units thanks to gods vivid colors and customizable through the appropriate settings and one high level maximum brightness. However, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro it has a slightly colder temperature and tends to accentuate the contrast more. Among other things, the latter thanks to 2.0 anti-glare mode will tend to shoot colors and brightness to the maximum when we are in direct sunlight so as to guarantee better visibility.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

Aboard OnePlus, however, we have a novelty to be reckoned with, or the refresh rate a 90 Hz of the display that, compared to the classics 60 Hz, make the experience even more fluid and pleasant, especially during gaming.

Finally, the viewing angles are excellent for both and as far as maximum brightness is concerned Xiaomi is slightly ahead thanks to the 600 nits that come into play when the external light becomes more intense.

Going into the settings we can find a myriad of customizations on both sides such as theambient display that in the case of OnePlus I think it is better thanks to the appearance of the text of the notifications with the animation on the side curved edges (although the Xiaomi has more choice of customization of the background in color), or the anti-flicker mode which will allow us to set the brightness to minimum without this causing the flickering, the screen calibration, the resolution choice, the dark mode and reading mode.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

In short, in this sector the battle between the two smartphones is really fierce, also because we are talking about two different types of display and it is never easy to choose which of the two is the best. Regarding my experience, I must say that I found myself better with the OnePlus 7 Pro but know that if you hate the curved edges choosing the Mi 9T Pro you will still make a good purchase.

Hardware and Performance

The two smartphones share it same chipset, Or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 assisted by one Adreno GPU 640. However, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro in the variant Overseas hubs is only available in the variant 6 / 128 GB unlike the OnePlus 7 Pro which from this point of view leaves us spoiled for choice, although neither of us presents the possibility of expanding internal storage through one microSD. Obviously the gap di price between the two rivals is remarkable and ours OnePlus 7 Pro presents a memory cut from 8 / 256 GB.

Both smartphones are chippings and daily operations are performed with a single speed, but thanks to the display a 90 Hz and OXYGEN the device of the company of Pete Lau turns out to be more fluid e whippy during scrolling between menus and settings. Apart from that the opening times of the apps are practically identical and the results of benchmarking differ from few points. We find the only differences in the writing speed e reading of the memories. Later I leave you some screenshots:

Also with regard to the Gaming we have no particular performance differences, nor have we found overheating during the most intense sessions. In fact, we can make it run with details at most even the heaviest games like Call of Duty Mobile without any uncertainty.

The advantage that has the OnePlus on its rival is a display with a higher refresh rate, not to mention the dedicated gaming modes, which manage background processes, optimize performance and limit notifications. In fact, we have both the "Game mode" classic than the most performing one "Fnatic Mode", beyond the feature RAM Boost who learns our habits and manages the app upload speed accordingly.

Camera - OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

The two smartphones have a similar photographic section and now I show you the technical specifications to make you realize it:

  • OnePlus 7 Pro: triple rear camera from 48 + 8 + 16 mega-pixel with opening f/ 1.6-2.4-2.2, telephoto 3x, wide angle from 117°, hybrid autofocus, OIS + EIS, 4K 60 fps and LED flash; Sony IMX471 front camera from 16 mega-pixel f / 2.0;
  • Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro: triple rear camera from 48 + 8 + 13 mega-pixel with opening f/ 1.75-2.4-2.4, PDAF autofocus, wide angle from 124.8°, Slow-mo 960 fps, 4K to 60 fps and LED flash; Front camera from 20 mega-pixel with aperture / 2.2.

The main sensor is for both Sony IMX586, while as regards the wide-angle one Xiaomi has a wider field. The photographic test was carried out by always clicking with Automatic HDR e AI automatic.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

In condizioni di good brightness the photos are very good for both, but it is Xiaomi presents colors slightly more cold it's a greater contrast, as has been increased sharpness which in some situations leads to the presence of noise photo. Moreover, I liked the most lighting management di OnePlus 7 Pro which turns out to be more balanced. The same goes for the wide-angle camera that returns shots with more vivid colors, but never too saturated. Also as regards the management of theHDR and dell 'artificial intelligence I prefer the OnePlus, as very often it acts in a less aggressive and more effective way, unlike the Mi 9T Pro which sometimes exaggerates by not saturating poco colors and excessively lowering the contrast.

In Night OnePlus continues to better manage the lights and represent colors more faithfully, in addition to having a slightly higher level of detail. However, unlike the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, we should hold the very firm hand in order not to make the micromosse photos come and this can be noticed especially in the macros where it is Xiaomi can sin slightly in brightness, but gains in firmness. The latter's wide-angle sensor, on the other hand, has more noise than its rival and less effective light management.

From the front what was said above is repeated, as on the Xiaomi the sharpness that led to a greater presence of noise has been increased, we have slightly less colors and worse lighting management. Perhaps it is on this sensor that we find some slightly more marked differences, especially at night.

Both can register video up to 4K a 60 fps and while the OnePlus can count on a stabilization OIS + EIS, Mi 9T Pro he can do it only on that digital. Despite this, the latter behaves really very well and apart from some very light artifacts you don't notice a lot of differences. Obviously the 7 Pro allows us to move in a less careful way, as the optical stabilizer will get us a piece, but otherwise both behave very well. The colors, on the other hand, seem to be even better on Xiaomi.

In this sector there is no history, OnePlus 7 Pro it's definitely the top thanks to the presence of a double speaker (unlike the single speaker of the Mi 9T Pro) that guarantees a greater involvement and a more powerful volume, not counting a slightly better frequency balance. Finally, after so many years of requests, the company has satisfied the community and inserted a second speaker inside the earpiece.

Unfortunately, however, the absence of the entrance spoils everything mini-jack, which is present on the Xiaomi. To make matters worse OnePlus has decided not to pack theadapter USB Type-C - 3.5 jack mm and it turns out to be quite absurd since this was included until OnePlus 6T.

Finally, good audio captured by microphone for both, as well as the one coming out of the earpiece during calls.

Both devices offer a fairly complete connectivity compartment thanks to the Dual Band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual Frequency GPS/ A-GPS / GLONASS / Beidou / Galileo, NFC and obviously, 20 band. However, I found better performance in terms of reception on OnePlus 7 Pro, while if they play at par on satellite navigation.

As regards the fingerprint sensor located under the display I must say that, although both are really very fast and precise, that of Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro it also works with a lighter pressure than what we have to apply on its rival.

However, this type of release is not only present, but we also find the facial recognition 2D, therefore without the help of particular sensors. In conditions of good brightness the release is slightly faster on OnePlus, which also has a faster pop-up form, but at night the situation becomes complicated for both, unless you have set a brightness level high enough to light up your face sufficiently. In this case the OnePlus it is still the fastest in recognizing you, but if you set the brightness of the display under the 20% there will be no way to unlock them.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

To conclude it is good to say that, unlike the Mi 9T Pro, 7 Pro has a Type-C 3.1, but unfortunately with Android 9 Pie there is no support for one Desktop Mode.

In this part we challenge two of the UI most appreciated by you users, or the MIUI 10.3.3 di Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and OxygenOS 9.5.11 based on Android 9 Pie di OnePlus 7 Pro. Both are full of features and customizations and, since we have already dealt with them many times, we will not again be listing all the goodies, but only a part.

First of all we must say that a great merit of both is that we can lower the notification curtain making a swipe down on any part of the display. Moreover, there are always the classic navigation gestures and gestures to start shortcuts various. In fact, having very generous panels these features go to help a lot in one-handed use, although this is still difficult.

Each of the two presents custom animations, which contribute to the improvement of the product, making us realize how much attention has been paid to the details. For the rest, they are joined by a very useful one Dark Mode which will help us save a little battery, a Ambient Display (more captivating on Xiaomi), the app cloning el 'app locker.

Sul Mi 9T Pro we find the very interesting Second Space that we do not find on board the OnePlus which in turn presents some extra goodies like the Gaming Mode. In short, we are faced with two very complete software and the choice falls on your type of use and your habits. This does not mean that the OXYGEN basic results to be much more whippy e reactive thanks to very fast or almost non-existent transitions.

Personally, I appreciate it more because I find it much more practical and tidy in the menus.

Both smartphones have a unit from 4000 mAh, but some features such as the with resolution QHD + and refresh rate a 90 Hz di OnePlus, influence autonomy, showing us different results between the two.

Indeed, with intense use I have done about average 5 hours and minutes 30 su OnePlus 7 Pro, as we go up about 6 hours and 15 minutes with Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. The difference is not abysmal if we consider the advantages of the device of Pete Lau, but in any case it is very good on both. However, if you are looking for a real one tank then it Xiaomi it will surely be for you.

As far as charging is concerned, the latter supports the Quick Charge 4.0 a 27W, but in the package there is only one power supply from 18W, while the OnePlus 7 Pro supports the Warp Charge with charger (supplied) from 30W. The results are surprising because the complete recharge will take place in approx 60 minutes unlike the 85 minutes the Xiaomi.

Conclusions - OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

The sums are not easy to pull because it is necessary to take into account different aspects including the price and your preferences in terms of e software. This is because if you hate the curved edges and the oversized dimensions then you will necessarily have to choose it Xiaomi, but if you want to evaluate the two smartphones on the whole without particular preferences then I must say that during these days of trial I found myself better with OnePlus 7 Pro.

OnePlus 7 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

In fact, in daily use the OXYGEN it will make you look like flying, the camera will offer you top-of-the-range shots (not at the levels of P30 Pro, Note 10 or iPhone 11 Pro) and a crazy display. However, we must point out that, if we calculate the list price di Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro 6 / 128 GB (449 euro) and OnePlus 7 Pro 8 / 256 GB (759 euro) la difference è so much, let's talk about 310 €, while if we want to make a comparison between street price the first is available at around 345 € against i 550 € of the second.

In any case we are faced with a minimum gap of 200 euro, not a few since the two are equivalent in terms of performance and that the Mi 9T Pro it guarantees us a better autonomy and photos that all in all can be compared without too many problems. Each of the two represents the best choice in your price range: if you want to bet on maximum, spending the minimum then buy it without too much hesitation Xiaomi, but if you want the maximum with larger budget allora OnePlus 7 Pro it will not disappoint you.

It was not easy for me to close this comparison because both are excellent devices that I have been recommending to my friends for a long time and the only reason why I buy one instead of another is only for the budget they can make available.

I remind you that all the best prices available online can be found on our Telegram channel di GizDeals where we share the best offers on Xiaomi and daily OnePlus.
