Meizu 16s official: Snapdragon 855, 48 MP and an avalanche of news

Meizu 16s

After months and months of rumors, confirmations and denials, the new flagship of the Chinese company has finally come between us. The company has launched the Meizu 16s, characterized by frames even more optimized than the predecessor and a renewed hardware compartment. Here is all there is to know about the new flagship between technical data, price and availability on the Asian market.

Meizu 16s completely revealed: here is the new top of the range!

Meizu 16s Plus

Given the hatred of Jack Wong towards the displays with notch, a small mockery could not be missed against the models equipped with the now ubiquitous notch (as can be seen also in the screen above). But unlike these, Meizu 16s continues to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and to offer a completely full screen display, with an inferior frame reduced to the bone (4.2 mm), very limited thickness and weight (7.6 mm of thickness and a weight of 165 grams).

The display is an AMOLED panel from 6.2 inches diagonal with resolution Full HD + (2232 x 1080 pixels), report in 18.6:9 and occupies the 91.53% of the front surface. Support will not be missing DC Dimming, one of the features of the moment.

Frontally it finds a space sensor ID located below the display, which promises improved 30% performance compared to the model 16 and arrives with the promising name of Super mTouch.

Obviously - and there was absolutely no doubt about this - under the body we find the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, the latest high-end solution from the US company, supported by 6 / 8 GB of RAM and 128 / 256 GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

Photographic quality

The photographic sector relies on a selfie camera from 20 mega-pixels, defined as the smallest sensor currently available on the market, which helps to thin the upper frame thanks to its small size. This is the ultra slim sensor Samsung 3T2, for the first time equipped on a smartphone. Thanks to technology HDR + it will be possible to obtain improved self-portraits.

Speaking lunar shots (and the famous one first photo of a black hole) could not miss a bit of irony towards competitors. The main dual camera is composed of a primary sensor Sony IMX586 da 48 mega-pixels and a form IMX350 da 20 mega-pixels. Obviously everything will be accompanied by functionality AI, like scene recognition. Present the OIS stabilization, also for 4K videos (for those in Full HD the device relies on EIS).

As anticipated from the samples in recent days, the flagship offers optimized night shots thanks to the new one Super Night Mode, now a must have for any self-respecting device.

Autonomy and software

Autonomy side, despite the reduced thickness, the top of the range integrates a battery from 3600 mAh with quick charge MCharge 4. The software on board the two flagships is based on Android 9 Pie, in the form of Flyme 7.3 and with the renovated smart assistant One Mind 3.0. The icing on the cake, could not miss the GPU Turbo style hardware acceleration technology, in this case called Hyper Gaming. Also in this round the tactile feedback system with the new one is renewed MENGINE 3.0, which promises fabulous performances especially during the most agitated phases of the game.

For the better late than never series, Meizu 16s is enriched with the Dual Frequency GPS, for an even more precise satellite positioning. We then have a chip NFC (with support for the payment system Meizu Pay), one of the most requested gems (and appreciated during the launch event) by users.

Along with the device, the Chinese company has also launched Meizu Hi-Fi, an 3.5 mm Type-C / mini-jack adapter with a chip Cirrus Logic CS43131 integrated, composed of a latest generation DAC and a high fidelity headphone amplifier.
