After analyzing a few months ago the TicWatch Pro, today we return to the rescue with the review of a smartwatch produced by the Chinese company Mobvoi. In fact, we are talking about the new TicWatch C2, which can be defined as the spiritual successor of the TicWatch 2 which was launched a long time ago. Many things have changed compared to the latter, one above all is the software. How did it behave during the test days? We just have to find out in our full review!

TicWatch C2 Review

Unboxing

Il TicWatch C2 it is sold in an elegant white cardboard box and inside is the following equipment:

• TicWatch C2;
• magnetic base for charging;
• instruction manual.

Construction and design

Compared to E series and S we have one cash in aluminum and a strap in skin, which make this smartwatch much more elegant and more suitable also for the female audience. In fact, we also have fairly small dimensions, or a thickness of 13.10 millimeters (The Rose Gold and from 12.80 mm) and a box from 42.83 Millimeters.

The construction is very solid and the materials used are of quality, moreover, the TicWatch C2 owns one IP68 certification which makes it resistant to water and dust. Unfortunately there is still no function that monitors swimming, but in recent days I have been able to use it safely in the water without encountering anomalies and malfunctions.

Il strap in real leather which is sold with the smartwatch is from 18 mm and can easily be replaced with another strap that can be purchased on the official store or on any other site or watchmaking.

The smartwatch on the wrist is very comfortable and light and the strap will not make you sweat the skin in any way. Furthermore, after 3 weeks of use I found no scratches or signs of wear on the steel case.

With regards to this aspect, we find here two physical keys that perform the following functions:

• Single tap on the top button: application list;
• long press on the upper button: Google Assistant;
• single tap on the bottom button: Fitness, but we can actually customize it to our liking through the settings;
• long press on the lower button: switch on, off, restart.

Below are the pins for charging and the sensor for monitoring the heart rate. On this model the system speaker is absent so we will not be able to entertain conversations directly from the smartwatch and we will not be able to listen to music except through a Bluetooth device, but we will discuss this later.

Display

Il TicWatch C2 has a display AMOLED da 1.3 inches diagonal with resolution 360 360 pixels x and density of 392 PPI.

Come da tradizione Mobvoi the panel is of great quality, as the colors are very vivid, but never too saturated and the definition is high as is the maximum brightness, which will guarantee good visibility in direct sunlight.

There is no automatic brightness sensor, but we can easily manage the latter directly from the settings. Finally, there is also the always-on mode which will allow us to continue to see the time even when the device is on standby.

Hardware

As for the hardware sector, the TicWatch C2 has the same configuration as the Pro, which is a chipset Snapdragon Wear 2100, flanked by 512 MB di RAM e 4 GB di the memory intern. The device is fluid, runs well and adequately carries out its work without hitches or various lags. Too bad not to find the new one Snapdragon 3100, but we can still consider ourselves very satisfied with the performances.

Software

Unlike its predecessor, the TicWatch C2 does not have a proprietary system, but relies on Wear OS. From this point of view there is not much to add to what was said for the TicWatch Pro or for other smartwatches with the same software analyzed above, as it has the same strengths and weaknesses.

Through this watch we can install Spotify and control playback on smartphones or other devices connected to it via Bluetooth, it is possible to answer calls, but it is not possible to talk only from the smartwatch. Furthermore, you can install Telegram and chat with your friends, send voice messages, stickers and much more.

For Whatsapp, Wear OS still does not allow you to download it directly from the Play Store, so you can only reply to messages via keyboard, voice commands or quick replies, but you will not be able to view images or listen to audio notes (always via Bluetooth device).

We have the integration of Google Assistant which can be called up via the top key or by voice command. I must say that this came back to me very useful, especially when driving or when I could not use the smartphone.

The application Mobvoi it's always a lot intuitive e endearing in design. Thanks to this we will be able to monitor all sports progress. About the latter, we can use both on the smartwatch Google Fit that the proprietary applications of Mobvoi.

I fitness data returned are enough depth and this makes us understand that the company wants to focus a lot on sport as well as on productivity.

Sensors

Il TicWatch C2 has Bluetooth 4.1 LE, Wi-Fi b / g / n Single Band, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, heart rate monitor, GPS / A-GPS ed NFC, which will allow us to make payments with Google Pay directly from the clock.

Speaking of the sporting side, the calculation of steps is quite precise and reliable, but we are not at the level of devices designed specifically for sports. Through the clock it is possible to start travel sessions, walk, treadmill, bicycle e freestyle work out, or the gym.

Good accuracy of the heart rate sensor, because comparing it with an arm blood pressure meter the results were very similar. Also, you can set the constant measurement, but obviously this will affect the autonomy.

Finally, we confirm the positive sensations also for the GPS, which will allow us to accurately examine the route taken during our training sessions.

Autonomy

Under the body of the TicWatch C2 we find a battery from 400 mAh, which guarantees us one good autonomy. Indeed, with intense use (constant notifications, physical activity, active / always-on display and brightness over 50%) we will be able to arrive without too many problems at the end of the evening, while with more moderate use it will also be possible to reach a day and a half of autonomy.

Finally, the full recharge it happens in about 1 30 hours and minutes.

Conclusions

Arriving at the conclusions I would like to exclaim a phrase that is so fashionable lately: "Mobvoi is not wrong". Eh already because even this time the Chinese company has made a product functional, economic and surprisingly elegance. Despite this, the eye has continued to wink sports thanks to the usual excellent additions Mobvoi.

Il TicWatch C2 is available on the official store a 189 €, all in all a fair price for what the smartwatch can offer us, that is good performance and excellent design.
